I'm going to start by saying this place is huuuugeeeee. First thing first: When you get to the reserve you'll see a big car park. We paid £1.50 for 5h which I don't think is bad at all considering the size of this place. There are public toilets as well as a cafe and a shop. Once you enter the park you will see a signpost for all the trails. I didn't really notice this at the start but on the trails to your left you can have your doggies off the lead. The ones on the right you will have to have your doggies on the lead at all times. Needless to say we went right 🤦‍♀️Along the pathway you will see lots of enclosed areas which are homes to various wildlife, black sheep and birdies. We spend 3h walking around the different trails and don't think we even walked them all. At the sides of the trails there are lakes with lots of bird watching enclosures for all you bird watchers. On these pathways you are not allowed to cycle either however there are other pathways where this is permitted. This is a wonderful place to bring your family for a gentle stroll, a picnic or maybe a romantic walk. Pack some snacks, drinks and sandwiches and go adventuring. Now for the trails to the left of the entrance ☺️ here you can have the doggies off the lead, not much wildlife it just goes around one of the lakes. There is also a little stream in between the pathways so the doggies can have a drink....

£2.50 to park, they've updated their carpark ticket machines, so you can pay by card but you also now have to put your reg in now. So, no more passing on your ticket! The outside play with a sand pit (bring a bucket and spade although you can buy these in the shop). There is digger type thing but it's normally always broken. There's, water play too but that is broken most of the time too. There's a tower to climb and if open, tunnels and cargo nets etc that are on different levels and down to the water. There's great walks with different lengths and a specific walk for dogs too. They have outside eating areas and a food hatch to sell drinks, ice creams and snacks but its not always open. Inside there is a shop, free play area, a bookable meeting area and a canteen. The food has always good with lots of choice especially for those like me with dietary requirements, it's very reasonably priced too and you can use the Lincoln Discount card and get 10%. The staff have always been helpful, some not so friendly. There have been some updates in the canteen. They've stopped the help yourself jugs of water which was disappointing and now charge 60p for condiments like tomato sauce and mayonnaise! It now comes in tiny glass jars. I was disappointed that the lady serving was touching the rim of the drinking glasses. Something when I was trained we were told never to do with a...

Whisby Natire Park is a great place for a countryside walk, on your own, with children and of course your canine companions There is a range of walks to choose from, depending on the time you have One of these walks allows dogs to be off lead their lead. However from personal experience please don't let your dog just run around without being able to recall should another owner asks you to; no matter how friendly your dog may be , theirs might be nervous or afraid of other unknown dogs. Hides are dotted around the lakes for bird watchers. A noticeboard listing the location of recent sightings of less common birds helps in spotting them There are breathtaking views to enjoy on your way round. The centre itself offer an indoor play area for young children with a small cafe, while The Boardwalk cafe is bigger with a great selection of savory meals and sweet treats. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor tables and a small indoor space. Outdoor play areas offer fun and adventure for children of all ages The gate to the car park is closed at dusk or sooner as shown on the gate a notice but the nature reserve is always open to those on foot. The cost of parking has recently been increased but for under £3 to park ,its a...

Whisby Nature Park is a truly special place. The moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by expansive wetlands, serene lakes, and well-maintained trails that make it easy to immerse yourself in nature. Whether you’re a casual walker, a keen birdwatcher, or just looking for a peaceful escape, there’s something here for everyone. We took our toddler, and it’s incredibly child-friendly. There’s a brilliant water-themed area, a sandpit, and an indoor activity and play area — perfect for little ones to explore. The walk itself is lovely too, with plenty to see along the way, and our toddler really enjoyed it. The visitor centre and café are excellent – friendly staff, great coffee, and lots of information about the park’s wildlife and conservation efforts. It’s obvious that Whisby is lovingly cared for and managed with both visitors and nature in mind. If you’re in the area, Whisby Nature Park is a must-visit. It’s a place where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy the outdoors as a family.
