Beautiful stretch of the river and surrounding countryside very close to the village of pangbourne. In the sun it is full of people sunbathing, swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding.
I jumped in the river here after tennis recently and when i came up for air, looking along the river instantly transported me into what looked like a painting or 18th century novel.
The people along the river bank are all very friendly and just want to have a good time. Lots of people jump from the bridge that goes over the river and there are lots of football matches and sports events in the meadows too. Idyllic place! My picture is the view...

   Read moreWe visit the meadows a lot, all year round and the summer season is a great time to visit. Plenty of walking to be had and if you have children or dogs theyâll love it. The Thames is at its idyllic best along the path here. There are two car parks, one easy to find and the other tucked away. The car park by the Dolphin centre is often free on a Sunday but a busy one, itâs small anyway. There is a road just around the corner that leads to another car park and is signposted. Popular kayaking and canoeing spot and weâve taken our boats out here.
