Greens — Local services in Great Britain

I always try pies from butchers as I like to support this scerce type of shop and very often I get really good ones. Unfortunately the steak and Guinness pie I bought a few days ago was truly awful. The filling had little taste and not even a hint of the Guinness that was supposed to be in it. Worse was the pastry which was quite sweet!. Did they put sugar instead of salt in the mix? Also bought sausages which were OK but nothing special. I will continue to buy my pies from Sweeney Todd in reading. Bit more expensive but far superior to...

Unfortunately I only get to Pangbourne once every two months delivering lifestyle magazines. First visit just dropped of mags, second visit tried some chorizo scotch eggs and chilli and mango sausage rolls, third visit bought quite a few more items for immediate consumption and "something for the weekend" can honestly say out of probably over two hundred town/village centres I visit this is without any doubt the best for pies, pasties and savoury products. Next time I visit I'll be taking a cool box for a trial of their butchery. Cannot...

We’ve been shopping in Green’s for 28 years and nothing is going to change: the quality and flavour of their meat is second to none and they buy ONLY from farms where they are happy the animals are well treated, which is very important to us. The staff are always cheerful, friendly, helpful and go out of their way to provide you with anything slightly different you might need.
