Burry Port Lighthouse — Attraction in Pembrey and Burry Port Town

I was on one of my daytrips and for some reason got off the train here. It was a dry windy day so spent alot of time sheltering. There no active port as such. Dont expect any big ships or small! But it was different. Did find a pub for a meal sorry cant remember the name. Didnt look that much from the outside but inside was clean and pleasant and had a great meal beautifully cooked and very reasonably priced. Nice staff too. Just found name 'The Cornish Arms' I'll give it 5stars...

Charming mini lighthouse that has a small digitised light that sweeps a gentle arc across the harbour entrance. The rocks are a great depository for large bits of driftwood. A large angel wing piece was retrieved by my daughter as my holiday souvenir because with a new replacement hip l didn't want to put myself in danger ! The beach goes out very far at low tide. Even with the tide out, its a great place to visit. Plenty to offer for the cyclist, dog walker, hiker or arrive by car and have a view across the harbour. There is also a train station nearby. The coastal path leads west to Pembrey or east to Llanelli. A great cafe, burger van or a short walk into the centre for more great refreshment options.
