I walk everywhere and Plymouth is my City....so its strange that I don't visit this park more. When I was a young man earning my living as an Engineer in Devonport dockyard I used to come to the park to eat my lunch and chill out. How it's changed! And for the better. I get the feeling it is now a community park with groups of girls with the babies, elderly folk mingling, sharing stories and groups playing boules. It is well kept, has bags of enclosed play areas for young children and the older more adventurous ones. Beautiful shrubs and sensory gardens are abundant and it has a real sense and buzz of calmness happiness and community spirit with the smart cafe seeming to be the hub ...post lockdown I think this park can and will play a major role in the healing process of the past years terrible and unforgettable pandemic. I didn't have time for a coffee, but I will be back!!

Such a beautiful park and the cafe Is incredible. There have been a few dog owners that do not respect the park but overall the park is looked after well and continously improving as time goes on , however the children's play park needs more monitoring as many time I have seen older teens sat in the parks playhouse smoking and drawing profanities all over the playhouse to the point my daughter has asked whay rhe words mean , some cctv needs to be Implemented to prevent this. I love this park and don't want it to end up covered in graffiti like most parks. All in all though a fantastic park. Picture posted is from my photography portfolio. Beautiful park, lovely for a dog walk or there's a fantastic kids playground. Beautiful little cafe with outdoor seating or those sunnier days. Lots of different areas within the grounds, from the football pitches to places to play bowls and tennis courts. You could easily spend a few hours if you took a picnic with you. Great place for kids and bikes as paths are wide, lots of flat areas, and open grass spaces. Suitable for disabled or people with mobility issues to take a gentle stroll. I went on a Sunday evening a couple of weeks ago and was delighted to see the bandstand being used for a choir practice. It was beautiful to walk around and have them singing in the background.
