A beautiful spot for a family, or solo traveler. I believe there is a car park? But there are lots of roads you can park on. You can follow paths along the top of the beaches which drop down at the different parts. I’m not sure if the tide is in whether you can walk through the different beaches from the sand/ shoreline but me and my daughter did when the tide was out and it was beautiful to explore. There are rock pools along so lots of crabbing if you wish and when the tide is out you can find “pools of water which are still rather deep” sometimes the drop in the sea is rather deep. You will find loads of jelly fish washed up on the beach! Our kids wore buoyancy aids for piece of mind as they aren’t strong swimmers, there is a current there. If you like as a swimmer you can swim over to the “desert island” on the other side of the sea where there is a channel that forms when the tide is out. If you make it to the island by boat, canoe or whatever you’ll find shallow warm pools of water your little kids may enjoy! In one part of the beach is a sand hill which kids roll and jump down, looks very fun. There aren’t any lifeguards about that I saw, no toilets either. It is however incredibly beautiful, oh and lots of shells for the little ones to collect.

Loved this place, it is a hidden gem of a beach, perfect for little ones and grown ups alike. We were told about it by one of the locals and it was worth the visit. There are no shop or toilet facilities nearby so go prepared with a picnic, and all your beachy fun stuff, plus a little shelter in case you need a bit of shade like my hubby. The path to it is adventurous, definitely sparking the imagination and lots of little coves to explore. Unfortunately it's not wheelchair accessible. The small car park is pay and display and people were launching small boats from it, others had paddle boards out on the water, on a sunny day, it's an especially stunning area. The car park is surrounded by an arch of holiday lets, and a couple of licensed eateries. We will definitely be going back for another little visit in the near future.

The beaches here are great. Real pirate adventure style. Lots to explore. We visited twice in one week, both times in the late afternoon around 4. No problem parking in the harbour car park. The walk takes about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on little kids walking speed!! Follow the path past the old boats and then follow the road up the hill, over looking the water. That will lead you past the very old observation post and onto the path to the beaches. There are several. We went past the first and onto the second. From the beach level you can explore back to the first at low tide. This is. It a real swimming beach as there is a strong current in the channel but as the beach is very gradual there are plenty of pools and as the tide comes in plenty to splash about in. Well worth a visit.
