We took the opportunity to visit whilst on hollys in Hayling Island. When you arrive you need to use the buźzer to get the gates open as the distillery is on a fort, off limits to the public but maintained by English Heritage. The tour is interesting and informative as you learn about the rum and gins they make. They are the first English Distillery to make from scratch and authentically age a rum for 3 years. You taste the rum and some of the gins obviously and afterwards have a sample of your fave at their bar. And buy some merch as well of course. Disclaimer. The rum is lovely with tonic and ice

This place is incredible, rich in history, with a great location and a fascinating story behind the brand. The team are passionate, straight-talking but know their stuff. I learned so much about rum and gin on their tour it has changed my mindset when it comes to tasting spirits. The Forum is incredible and I hope to top up my bottle next week and meet the team again. Thank you and long may you keep this location.

Discovered one of Portsmouth's best kept secrets in Fort Cumberland. Welcoming and friendly staff in such a historic location. Tried all the spirits they have on offer. Don't be put off by the main gate, just buzz to pass through. Thoroughly recommend visiting Vince, Giles and Co. Will be back when their newer spirits are available. Look forward to returning.

Amazing experience throught our visit. (Distillery tour as a gift) Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Huge amount of knowledge about the history of the site, background about the journey the distillery has had so far and the products they make. Firstly we had a drink, as we arrived early for the tour. Then we had a short talk from one of the owners and founders. Shown the distillery rooms and taken to a tasting room. To sample a number of gins and rums made on site. Then back to the bar for a complimentary drink. Absolutely amazing place. Learnt a lot, including some of the "in house secrets" :-)

The distillery is in very historic, captivating surroundings. Incredible drinks. Lovely friendly staff. Very memorable experience. Basic but clean toilet facilities. Amazingly clean bar area and distillery areas!

Will definitely...

Superb visit to the wonderful Portsmouth Distillery. Vince and Giles provided an excellent and informative tour (loved the story of Sophie Wu). Their passion to create world class spirits shines through. This was reinforced when it was time to taste the products of their hard work! The Fort Gin is already a new favourite of mine; the botanicals work beautifully together and I can see myself enjoying this as a sipping gin as well as in a traditional G & T. Despite categorizing myself as a whisky drinker after tasting the 1968 and Cinnibar rums I will be adding these to my drinks cabinet. Really looking forward to tasting the new additions when they are ready. Thanks guys -...
