Two Stars ✨... Yes unfortunately 2 Stars, the reasons are (simply Asda Grade, mash potato 17p,, green vegetables, hard & tasteless, gravey Asda grade fake bisto, The Two stars go to the Steak and Ale pie... That was beautiful and tasty, everything else, not worth talking about, the coffee had no flavour and the coca cola, was so so.... So all in all my wife had (cheep mash potato, I have steak and ale pie, & a coffee & a Cola.. £17..... What..... I just paid £17 for that.... Never again, next time I will make the effort to drive, through traffic to get to the Harvester & not circle back.... The thached house at locksway Road is really not worth visiting,.. We met two friends as its his birthday, we spent £10 on there drinks and we wasted our money, £27 for sitting in a area that smelt of urine, (maybe as we sat near the toilets, but there again, we weren't sat, IN the toilets as it smelt like this all through dinner...) All the staff seemed dressed for a funeral & were not really helpful at all, very dirty, cold and quiet smelly, Nice looking pub, if there were a lic of paint, once in a while... Unfortunately also the cutlery was dirty, that always makes eating at places like these difficult... Anyway we have learnt our lesson, we will next time be going to Harvester Portsmouth, as I can't recommend them enough, just yesterday we couldn't do the traffic & the thached house Portsmouth, seemed the best option... Its a real shame as you walk in it looks a great place for dinner, but looks can be deceiving, especially after wasting £27.... Im not a happy person.... As I love steak and Ale and the pies & all the trimmings..

Friendly & welcoming, excellent service. I dined there with 2 of my pals, 1 of whom had the Hunters Chicken, she said it was the best she'd had in ages, my other pal had one of the burgers, he also said it was the nicest he'd had in ages. I went with the Traditional Beef & Ale pie, this came with chips & purple tipped Broccolli, & gravy. I must say, it was by far the best pie I've had since I was a child. The pastry was melt in your mouth & chunks of meat in a luvly rich gravy, that I barely touched the extra gravy that came with the meal. Well done to the staff at the Thatched House. I look forward to tasting the Apple & Blackberry crumble pie next time as it sounds delicious.

Loved the layout the deco and the service was good. The selection of food and special offers were excellent. The only reason I gave a 4 star and not 5 was because we waited half an hour for our desert and by this time the restaurant was empty, and when it did arrive was a bit disappointing not like the picture at all! Having said that, I would definitely dine here again as the staff were very apologetic.

This has always been a favourite place to visit because of the view before an onward journey to see shows at the Kings Theatre or the Guildhall. On a previous visit allowing plenty of time to order and then be served, the food was good but we were waiting for over an hour to receive the food making us late to get to park and get to the theatre. Taking this into consideration we booked 3 hours before we wanted to be at the Guildhall. We were meeting friends from Weymouth and were looking forward to showing them the little gem at the end of the road. We ordered, albeit in two parts, one after another but with the same table number. Apparently the other meal, the mushroom tart, when ordered was showing out of stock but the lad taking the order thought there was some so he went to check and then said he needed to put it on the system. After an hour, our friends food arrived but nothing for us. We asked the waitress and she checked and came back and said that would be a couple of minutes. However three other tables that had come in long after we had ordered, started getting their food, and by this time our friends had nearly finished their food. We asked again and the girl said it was the fish that was taking its time to cook. 5 minutes later, our food appeared, nearly 2 hours after ordering. The fish was totally inedible, the better was cooked but the fish was mushy on the outside with a frozen hard strip inside of it, so we went to complain. Really dont know what went wrong but was given a refund for the fish meal, there was no time to reorder, but to be honest it totally ruined the experience of a lovely meal with friends before a concert at the Guildhall. Unfortunatley will think twice...

Good evening.

I'm not one for leaving reviews but it has bothered me significantly.

I would like to bring to your attention of a poorly run establishment this evening 4/5/23 .

My main reason for my complaint is a staff member of the name mandy. Who was reluctant of promoting your cocktails that were not on your menu and she did this by abruptly interrupting a conversation with another staff member to state to me that all of the cocktails they sell are on the menu. I then kindly assured her you have around 15 cocktails not 6 . Even a staff member said to her we have loads . She then picked a menu up with attitude and stood at the end of the bar looking through the drinks menu and made me wait about 3 minutes for her to make a decision she then came back and didn't even acknowledge me almost like I was dirt on her shoe she then spoke to the other bar member and i heard her say all the cocktails are on the menu at this point I interrupted her and said I don't see venom on there she then chucked the menu on the bar muttered something under her breath to the bar maid and walked off . I had no apology not even a glimpse of a smile from her so unprofessional. You could see the animosity from the other staff members towards her.

My second complaint I'm not too fussed about but to bring to your attention is if four people order starters and mains we expect that all the starters to come at once not 2 starters . Then 30 minute's later 4 mains come out with the remaining starter's .

I just think you guys can do better than this ...
