If this was in the Lake District it would be a star attraction. Fortunately it isn't, so it remains very quiet and relatively unvisited. The approach from Bollington, past the derelict and dangerous Ingersley Mill, is interesting but worth it. Combine it with walks through Rainow, along Kerridge Hill and a visit to White Nancy and you have an excellent outing. But don't tell too many people otherwise it will lose its quiet charm.

Parking's a bit scarce on the 'Private' lane at the old mill itself. The walk is easy up to the waterfall. You can only look from a wall on the drive as close access has been made private, probably by the owners of the adjacent cottages so, no chance of a paddle on a hot summers day. There is no pools anymore, they've been left to become overgrown and unaccessable (private keep out labels again).

Drove there through narrow local roads where sometimes was difficult to pass a car from opposite direction. No place to park the car, best to leave it about 15 min walk before in the town. I was a little bit disappointed as waterfall was much smaller than the pictures suggested. But there is nice walk through private road with beautifull and piecefull village.

Walked the Gritstone Trail, walked up to White Nancy and then down to the waterfall. The lack of parking is an issue and must be a bugbear for the locals. It means that the walk is relatively quiet though. Most of the trail has livestock on it, but there are a few fenced areas where it's ok to let dogs off leads. Can't get to the pool below the waterfalk to cool off hot dogs, worth...
