The route around the lake is perfect for dog walkers, runners and casual strollers
The lake was being used by pedalos on hire, which looked cool
Since the refresh, the main facility has been upgraded with a very large cafe with served fresh pastries and ice cream. I noticed there was a large selection of alcoholic beverages, nice cocktail in the sun looks likely!
The facilities were clean and well maintained
There are 2 parks, a kids park and a bigger kids park.
The smaller kids park has a lot of swings which was perfect as they were all full most of the time. There was lots of other things to do
The bigger park has a massive climbing frame which looked very popular
There is a mechanic kinetic gym on the grounds, a scooter / bike training square, ping pong table, chess table… something for everyone
The car park was full on the day I went and I had to wait and the spaces were small - the only negative, but not reducing rating because the place is popular

Around the lake itself large area's of undergrowth have been removed, opening up some now superb views. Lots of waterfowl and other birds to spot. Kids + muddy puddles, (what can possibly go wrong lol). From the park itself there are easy walks to Bordesley Abbey, the Needle Museum, and the Abbey Stadium among others. After a walk around the lake we choose to follow the path alongside the Arrow River, this took us past the Old Ipsley Church and onto the adjoining meadows, finishing after a short walk at the Golden Goose Pub and Carvery, where we ended our visit with an excellent and reasonably...
