Falinge Park — Attraction in Rochdale

This is a really pretty and well cared for park tended by an excellent team of gardeners. There is a small cafe which serves great coffee and homemade cakes. It's open most days but not sure of the times. There's a fantastic kids play area which will keep them busy for while. Check out the brilliant wood carvings dotted around too. For bird lovers there are owls nesting in the trees along with bullfinches, chaffinches and green finches all merrily singing there little hearts out. It's a nice park, a suitable size with several different areas for walking, playing, etc. The only thing letting it down were the skunk smokers with that acrid sweet smell. The lads were friendly enough when I spoke with them as I'm pretty good with people, however my friend didn't feel safe (they gave him a bit of attitudinal looks as he didn't reply to their comment on his dog). It's an OK park and there has been investment in it since the new children's play park (hidden behind the trees) and other recent improvements but it has several other issues. First of all, it seems to be a gathering point for the chavs of Rochdale. Secondly, the old hall is half demolished. You can't go inside and it's a wreck on the outside.
