Walked in with wife and two kids. Just walking over to pay for my eldest to play and order drinks and was met head on by the proprietor before I even reached the counter, who told me bluntly that I couldn’t bring my own drinks in. We had a Costa each that we were finishing off first. Apologised and explained that I’d not seen a sign or anything and that I was about to spend money on drinks from him. Proprietor just came back with “well I’m running a business selling food and drinks so you can’t bring drinks in”.
So we left. Unfortunate really as we’ve always enjoyed it when we’ve visited before. Daughter was left crying and we were just left to pick up the pieces of our ‘obnoxious’ error we ‘deliberately’ committed.
In truth I felt self conscious walking in with the last of our coffees from another establishment so I was warily looking out for signs on the way in explaining that we couldn’t take in our own drinks, but as I told the proprietor, I hadn’t seen one, otherwise we would have finished them outside first, and just endured the inconvenience of an anxious 2 year old tugging on my arm to go in and a 4 month old screaming for milk, no problem. As it was, there was no sign so we went in fully intending to patronise the services on offer.
Won’t be visiting again. Hopefully business is booming. Certainly seems like it must be when the proprietor can speak to customers the way he did. Then again maybe he was just having a bad day, but I won’t be around again to find out.
If I had been selling Costa coffees to his customers or we had sat down and immediately got out a picnic, without spending any money I could understand it. But we weren’t even given the opportunity to approach the counter to part...
Read moreMixed feelings. My son has had his last two birthday parties there and they were great with lovely staff. However, we were given a free pass for my son and his friend that lasted just two weeks. It was the holidays and most of our days had booked activities but we arranged to go with our friend and her son near the end of the holidays. She arrived first and said it was boarded up. I checked online and it said open, so I rang to check.
The phone was answered by the manager and I had the same problem as others commenting on these reviews. He is not a friendly guy and not customer focused at all. He said someone had wee'd (not the word he used) in the ball pool and not bothered to say anything. Now it had to be deep cleaned. Now, I understand his frustration but I explained about my plans with a friend and the token. He said he hadn't asked someone to wee (different word again) and I wouldn't want my child rolling around in it. I said no, of course not, but could the token be extended due to them being closed. He said no because he hadn't asked kid to wee so it wasn't his fault and I had rest of week to visit. I explained we were booked rest of week but he wouldn't budge. He was very grumpy and dismissive. I appreciate he was having a bad day but my friend had driven all the way there. It wasn't our kids who had made a mess and it wasn't our fault. An extension for customer relations wouldn't hurt for our inconvenience and to be spoken to nicely wouldn't have hurt either.
Next year's party will...
Read moreIf you are thinking of a soft play party for your little one, don't look any further than Play - World Explorers. Kira and Charlotte did the most amazing job at giving my 2 year old the party of dreams. They decorated the tables for me (win) they were brilliant with the communication and were so helpful throughout the party too, cutting up and boxing cake. The soft play area in itself is just beautiful, and absolutely perfect for the little ones as it's all so safe and you can see them easily enough without having to follow them around constantly like most play areas. The little bubble dance session at the end is also a perfect touch. I honestly can't thank you enough for the best couple of hours for our...
