( Alva Glen. ) Alva Glen. Man. This Glen is Absolutely Fantastic Brilliant so it is. Water falls I couldn't stop taking photos of it. I don't know if the locals know how lovely a Glen they have here. How Beautiful it is. As my Girlfriend and I were walking the Glen we seen three people with High vises on. Not sure if they were workers or volunteers to help keep the Glen clean so I had to take a photo of them. The Glen nature trail is well fenced of so no one will fall into the water. The Glen is circular to bring you back to the beginning again. It a well good walk to go round. My Girlfriend and I enjoyed this walk. Took plenty of photos and short videos to show off. This Alva Glen should be Advertised of TV to bring more people to see it. This is one of Scotland Beauty spots. We came here and it was a wet day. We would love to go round it again on a sunny day. It has a wee carpark free too. So no worries. So come come come. Give this Glen a visit. The water falls are Beautiful to see as you walk around the Glen. Bonny...

Alva Glen is a great place to enjoy a country walk with stunning views of the waterfalls, hills and nature. The glen was once the centre of a busy textile industry. You can see the remnants of old dams and workshops along the trail, as well as information signs that tell you more about the past. The trail starts from a car park northeast of the golf club and follows the river upstream. You will soon reach the first of five waterfalls, which are the highlights of the glen. The most impressive ones are the Craighorn Fall, which is 23 meters high, and the Big Fall, which is hidden behind a rock and drops into the Smuggler’s Cave. The trail gets steeper and more challenging as you go higher, but it rewards you with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. I would highly recommend visiting Alva Glen if you are looking for a fun and adventurous walk in nature. It is suitable for all ages and abilities, but you should wear sturdy shoes and be careful on some slippery sections. The glen is open all year round and there is no...

A 16 car car park and quite a bit of care if you go past the 3rd waterfall up to Smugglers cave but this area is great for an explore as its slot canyon forms some great geology, walks , water features and interesting wildlife for all to enjoy. Moving from the lower paths and the footing becomes a little more slippy up to the 2nd waterfall where the dam was formed to control water for the mills during the heyday of the hillfoots industry. Stray from the main paths and you get some great views especially when the spring and Autumn is turning. Its been a long time since i was up here and the area shows some signs of needing extra care but a lot of it has been tamed to some extent without detracting from the natural beauty too much. Also a great access point for entry to a lot of walks across all the hill routes weather permitting as it can become difficult to navigate once your on some of the less known...

So so sooooo lovely, and we didn't even do the whole walk! Lovely to be outdoor and wooed by the sound of the water. So peaceful. We had 2 young Kiddies and only managed so far - AND with a buggy! It might be the first dam we made it to, we're not sure.... it gets a bit rough after that. The eldest managed the walk too but I had to hold his hand tight. Lots of sheer drops and the hence ain't gonna hold in some part. Some are metal wired so those are not the strongest, the solid metal ones are fine but just don't chance it! They're too curious to what to see what's down there!! There are some staircases but also some slopes so we found the slopes as much as we can and then hubby did all the steps work with the buggy. Like I said, it's doable up until the first dam really so, potentially next time we'll just try and do it without the buggy and see how far again we can go.

This is a truly beautiful place, though plagued by litter… For many years I’ve seen the Ochils off in the distance and never really ventured in to them. Today that changed and on the whole it was a lovely experience. We trekked up the Glen with our 6 & 10 yr old who managed the steep paths without too much bother. There’s places where you will definitely want to guide younger children as there’s steep drops, but it’s very doable. I was really disappointed by the amount of litter, particularly below the benches. I just don’t understand the mindset of people who put the effort into going to these beautiful places, just to then trash them. There’s some great swimming holes here if you’re willing to try. We went dipping at Smugglers Cave and behind the highest dam. Slightly chilly!
