Street parking. Nice cafe offering inside & outside seating. Toilets. A small children's playgroud. Peaceful walks down to Endcliffe park. Popular with dog walkers. Birds & wildlife to watch out for. Good for people wanting to capture a few photos of kingfishers, herons etc.

Lovely place for families to visit any time but especially summer. Nice play park, pond with ducks and cafe has lovely ice creams. Also when weather is warm there are quiet spots near by where it's safe to have topless sunbathing in peace and quiet, without disturbance

Ducklings were adorable ! We love doing this walk from the city (6 mile round trip for us) and having a sit down at the Dam. The ice cream is worth it and the staff are lovely. Had a splash in the creek on the way home as well, perfect for hot feeties

Forge dam cafe is in a really nice spot, reasonably priced its a good end point to a walk through the porter Brook parks and a good stopping point if you're planning to walk further in to the peaks.

They have outside seating, a kids playground and toilet facilities along with being close to a road for easier access. If you do need accessible entrances it isn't hard to get there with a wheel chair and getting in to the cafe shouldn't be much of a problem, although they do also have a service window for anyone wanting to sit outside. The place is particularly nice in the summer, though does tend to get busier in the warmer months as to be expected. I can recommend giving this place a try if you're In the mood for a good coffee after a walk...

Visited just after Storm Franklyn which has inhibited the repair work to the dam wall and made the path closest to the edge unpassable, but it was still okay to follow the path that runs on higher ground. Lovely walk which can start from the Botanical Gardens through Endcliffe Park and Bentley Park, Forge dam and beyond through the Mayfield valley as far as you like, or just as short...

Lovely place with a long history. Is very pretty and surrounded by open countryside. There is a great playground for the kids and the cafe has plenty of covered outdoor seating to have a meal or coffee and cake. Proper Yorkshire parkin and good selection of ice cream. Really enjoyed it. Great end or halfway point for a walk up the Porter valley from Hunters...
