We came here to do donutting - going down the slope sat in a rubber ring. It was fun, but there were a lot of kids doing it too which meant they wouldn't let us build up enough speed to crash into the bottom properly, so maybe an adult only session would be better? They let groups go down together which adds to the enjoyment, but if everyone had chosen to go down individually, there were too many people and we wouldn't have go many go's, so smaller group size would be better too. The ski slope is part of a larger sports facility. I don't know if this was just winter time shut down, but the whole place looked like it needed some investment - the pond was drained, everything needed a coat of paint, the toilets looked like a prison block and smelled like they'd not been cleaned in years!

Parking is a nightmare, but we held a party there and all ten children who attended had a had a fantastic time donutting. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable and when a couple of them felt a little ill from the motion of sliding all the way down, they suggested shifting to only sliding halfway, so they could still enjoy the slope. Only problem we encountered was the lock on one toilet door jammed and one of the children was trapped for a while till we could find a staff member to unlock it - there's usually at least one or two staff in reception, but the one time we urgently needed them no one was around 😆. As soon as we found a staff member though they quickly found a key and were able to release the child. All in all, a great place.

We visited the snowsports centre in Southampton for a spot of Donuting down the dry slope. You have to watch a short safety video prior to participating, and when a ski class is coming in whilst the video on you literally can't hear anything which is the only reason why I've given them 4 stars instead of 5 (they could have had subtitles for example and made it a little more accessible to people). The staff were friendly and helpful - can't fault them. The experience itself was great fun! Highly recommend for adults seeking some fun and families alike. It's £15pp per hour which I thought was quite acceptable for the activity.

Great outdoor dry slope. Contours and trees help to give the Alpine Snowsports centre a great feel. Both of our kids are having lessons here to prepare for an upcoming ski holiday. The Skids lessons (for 4-10 year olds) are a good intro but the pace of the lessons is a little slow. So whilst these lessons are good for learning the basics and getting some confidence and experience on skis, for real progress I would recommend the private one to one lessons. The facilities off the slope are pretty basic but it has all you need. Staff are friendly and the teaching staff know their stuff.

If you are going skiing / donuting / sledging SO167AY is not the correct postcode SO167LT is the correct postcode, pass the school all the way to the end and then right, road is narrow so be careful of oncoming traffic and the parking situation is is not great. It was winter so lots of leaves on the path, making the steep downward decent fairly tricky. The children had fun that was the main part, & things in the play areas are fairly well organised, lots of staff at hand, safety training & coaching & supervision throughout.
