Bassett Pizza & Chicken — Local services in Southampton

I’ve ordered from this place for a few years now and they’ve always been spot on and reliable. After having not ordered from them for a while, myself and my partner thought we’d have a cheeky treat night. We ordered a burger meal deal, a medium kebab and some jalapeño cheesy bites. After waiting for our order for over an hour and 20 minutes, I had to call them to see where it was, maybe I’d made a mistake, but was told it was 5 minutes away. This was the first time this had happened, before they had been very reliable, so was willing to let it slide. Once we’d dished up the food, which was warm, not hot, we noticed we were short on numerous pieces of chicken that usually comes with the burger meal, I had asked for mayo on the burger meal chips, which wasn’t and them and the sauces I had asked for on my partners kebab was not on there as well. The burger looked like it had been in a car accident. Soggy, over sauced and squished. Such a shame because these guys have been amazing up until now, which is why I was a repeat customer. I’m assuming it’s either new owners who don’t care as much, or their standards have slipped, either way, I shouldn’t have to call them to see where my food is or why parts of the meal are missing. I am visiting Southampton and felt like having some halal chicken and burger. The meals are very expensive: bought two pieces chicken meal, one beef burger meal and a chicken fillet meal totalling over £22; when I asked for some mayonnaise sauce the owner refused to give me three mayonnaise sauces. He only gave me two mayonnaise and asked to charge extra for mayonnaise. In London they would give you two or three mayonnaise per meal. I paid over £22 and was being charge extra for a dollop of mayo! I certainly will not buy from them again. The meal were average but very expensive; in fact the most expensive burger / chicken meal. Wow! Iv ordered From here before but ordered the Bassit special meal this evening and whole family is very impressed . There is sooo much food! 2 medium pizzas, fluffy soft dough and they don’t skimp on the topping and tasted great. 2 medium kebabs great size and salad was fresh and you get loads, we haven’t even touched the box of chicken and chicken wing s yet or the garlic bread . Came with a bottle of Full fat coke which makes a nice change from the diet crap most takeeay places give you for free. It looks like we have a a new favourite takeaway...
