Lovely for a walk around .Go all the way to 19 arches , walk through to Sankey , Feed the ducks .have a picnic . Go to the boat house or the waterside for a cool drink in the summer . Sadly though if you need to go by car to get here you now have to pay in the car park . I.ve been going here for over 60, years yes 60 years I now bring my grandchildren and have never had to pay to park your car . Make sure you have money or card on you . This is another local gem, so quick to get to and a nice easy stroll, rather than a full-on hike.
Just off the East Lancs Road, set satnav for WA11 7LX, and lots of free parking off the main road. Good dry pathways so trainers will be fine, even I came out clean, (may be muddy in parts after lots of rain) and is reasonably accessible for pushchairs and lighter wheelchairs.

Take some bread for the ducks/swans/Canadian Geese and take some seed/bird nuts for the Black Caps, Nut Hatches and Robins!
