The Boathouse changed hands this year we have been regular visitor since the reopening in July but just having drinks as a few friends not had good experiences with food but I keep saying that give them time well today we did my Hubby had the large breakfast when it arrived no cutlery the plate was cold and food not very warm only the tin tomato was hot. I had question the large increase in the cost and was told that better ingredients where now used sorry must disagree on this . I did contact the boathouse and it was suggested I could always use other local places I could and it would cost lest but we enjoy good quality food so I don’t think so. I will just stick to a coffee from now on which can also be hot and miss or just might do what was suggested on keep going to Toby Carvery

Gorgeous breakfast I'm beautiful scenery 😋 However, I got to my breakfast just in the nick of time as the staff had just put my breakfast outside on the table for the flies to feast on whilst I was in the toilet. Would have been much better if they had kept my breakfast in the kitchen until I was seated. Luckily I was done in the lav just in time as I witnessed her walk away from my table. If I hadn't seen her leave it there I would NOT have eaten it & complained. Apart from flies & wasps, it is a 5* retreat! Our little hideaway from it all. Staff friendly & top chef! The presentation of the food & salads are wonderful! Dog friendly too! Ample parking & seating, indoors, outdoors or outdoors in a large white marque 💗

Haven't been here for a while due to some disappointing visits last year but we thought we'd give it another go after we heard of the changes that have been made. Our visit today was great. Such value for money and they had what we asked for on the menu (this hasn't been the case in the past, on more than one occasion) I had the dog walkers special, which was £4.50. It consists of a bowl of soup (choice of carrot and coriander or tomato and basil), a sandwich (choice of ham or cheese) and a cup of tea or coffee. My partner had the full English (£7.95 and that included a tea or coffee), which looked amazing. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else on the menu next time. Thanks for a nice visit.

A change in the Management team has made a big difference , we had a bad experience last year so stopped going , but they have done a lot of changes in the last lock down . Yes they still having a few problems and are working very hard to put these right and now the new cooker has a arrived things will improve. We went Saturday afternoon a very nice day so very busy but they had a safe system in place Covid is not helping with the rules but they are trying there best . We had a lovely lunch there one day but I still think a little high in price but drinks are a better value . Lots of new staff and still learning , very dog friendly plenty of water for them. I wanted to add a new review but couldn't so adding it on to this oday myself and 4 friends went for lunch and all the food was excellent, Monday to friday they have a over 60`s specials which 4 of us had 2 having Hunters chicken and 2 having scampi, the other meal was the healthy chicken burger ( bun and chips removed and a lovely salad added ) . 3 of our group had not been before and everyone enjoyed there meal and venue and are looking forward to another visit . also very...

We love coming here on our dog walks on a weekend. We haven't had food from here, usually just stop for a drink or 2. The dogs love it here, especially the treats!

However we came on Sunday and there were kids running around, up and down the pub. It felt like a children's play area. We don't mind children playing but the screaming and then running in front of you as you were walking to the bar/toilet was a bit irritating. We sat outside and enjoyed the view over the dam. It was a much better atmosphere outside.

The girl serving was lovely but she did say last orders was in 20 minutes. It was only 5.30pm and the pub was busy. So didn't quite understand why they would shut so early. We would've stayed for a second pint so we ended up walking round to the waterside for another drink before walking home.

We will come back on our dog walks but definitely...

Took about 5 minutes to even see a member of bar staff, was not greeted at all. Had to ask for a baby chair as we couldn't see any and then told where it was and had to get it ourself, was not asked if we wanted drinks or food and was not offered a menu when we chose our table, we had to ask another table for the only menu available in the restaurant as it seemed again we would have asked bar staff but they had dissapeared again. A pleasant smile did come from a young man in the kitchen. There was no sanitary or waste bin in the baby change/disabled room so I had to walk back into the bar with a soiled baby nappy bag to ask where to put it, I was told just to go and put it in the sanitary waste bins in the ladies toilet. Food was mediocre. We have been here before as it's a lovely location but only ever had a coffee, won't be...
