Sing Faye Chinese Restaurant St.Helens — Restaurant in St Helens

First time being in Chinese restaurant which wasn't a buffet. Well, what to start with. The location was great, just off the main road which was really easy to access. They have loads of parking space just outside their restaurant, which was great, especially when it was raining.

After our entrance, we've been welcomed by Chinese decor. And two small "lakes" with fish. Indoor! Amazing.

We have chided Early bird offer, £17 pound per person. I wasn't sure whether I will taste everything as some of the meals I wasn't really fan of. But we both enjoyed it so much!

First we've had soup. I've tried chicken and sweetcorn soup before but this one was different. Taste was so good.

Than we shared combo platter - spring rolls, some prawn rolls, ribs, wings... every single bite was delicious. Even food I didn't like before I really enjoyed this time.

After starter we've had duck and pancakes. And honestly, this was quite a taste! Everything worked together so well.

Mains were also really tasty. As a desert we've had orange, fresh and juicy. I even tried their ice cream and I wasn't disappointed.

Chef deserves big thumbs up, every single bite we've had we've enjoyed!

Service was also spectacular. We were well looked after, we've had wet, warm towels before each meal and duck was sliced just on our table.

Went to Sing Faye tonight and ordered from the five course menu. When the mains arrived, my partner noticed a hair in his food as he was transferring it onto his plate. We were both put off by this with him not eating any more of his and me having only a few spoonfuls of mine. No staff members came back to ask how the food was once it had been brought over. When a member of staff came to take our plates I explained that there was a hair in the food. One of the women who works here then approached us and stated that the hair was not black and all of their chefs wear hats so she did not know where it had come from. I explained that it was my partners food (who also has very dark hair) and that I had not been near it so it clearly was not mine. Without even apologising for the fact that there had been a hair in the food she continued to repeat that it was not black so not theirs and then walked away. We then asked for the bill and paid in full. On the way out I explained to the female member of staff that I was extremely insulted by the way that she had spoken to us in front of other customers, implying that the hair was mine when it clearly was not (I have very long hair and this hair was not long). The level of customer service was shocking and we will certainly not...

Had a booking for 8pm, arrived a little early and was seated straight away which was good apart from bieng seated on old leather seats which where taped up with gaffer tape and immediately feeling like we where getting rushed to order even though we where early. Food was nothing special, in all honestly I would of compared all of what we ordered to supermarket ready meals that you heat up and we ordered quite the variety too. The beer on draught was flat and like water and tried all of them , wine by the glass was only house wine and very bitter. Very overpriced on the food for what it was to be honest and during service and even up until the bill was asked for not once where we asked ' is everything OK' with meals etc. Overall very disappointed, after years of driving past the place and hearing good things about it and finally deciding to go, my whole experience there was rubbish to say the least.
