🇬🇧 This Is THE Beach Worth Visiting in the UK! 🏝️✨

For many years I have tried to find this beach. To be honest, it was absolutely worth the wait! It really is a fantastic place to visit! Before I get into the review, I would just like to mention that the walk down to the beach via the coast path and cliffs is somewhat scary at points. Especially the last part which calls for mountaineering skills! People had managed to get down with young children, dogs and paddle boards but I don't think I would risk it if I had young children. The last part to get down is probably 20 feet of near vertical rock face and holding on as you go down. The last thing I would want is someone to read this review and then get injured or a child get injured without me mentioning it! The beach itself is accessible via the coast path between porthcurno and penberth... however if you walk the coast path at high tide you will almost certainly not see the beach and the lagoons will not be present. All that will be there is the small part of the beach not covered by the sea. We parked at logans rock car park and walked up past the camp site and headed towards the sea straight in front of us. At the end of the path, it crosses the coast path and there is a stone seat directly opposite to the path down to the beach! Look carefully for this as the beach isn't sign posted from here... I think this is to stop people getting hurt who brave climb down. I.e if it isn't there in plain sight, people won't go there etc. Moving at a swift pace I walked down the hill and this is where it started to get a bit more rugged with the terrain, the upper part of the walk down included stepping down over boulders etc but not too difficult. On the approach to the beach, the view becomes apparent to the left. This view of the beach at low tide is spectacular and if you haven't seen it before, you could quite easily think you were abroad! Moving further on down and approaching the last climb down, it does feel like you are alive with a few hair raising moments but then looking into the beach you see children and the elderly who have already climbed down. So with those thoughts in mind you decide to brave the final part. I walked round to the left and found a good place to get down however the last part was very steep and if it was raining, I would imagine it would turn into a giant rocky slide! Jumping onto the beach, you brush yourself off and try to forget that you have to get back up at some point. Once on the beach, you realise how truly beautiful it is! I don't think I have found a better beach in Cornwall. Even kynance cove isn't as spectacular. At low tide, the beach is full of lagoons and small sand banks so you can have a fantastic time exploring them. Most of the lagoons are slightly over knee deep so you can explore the crystal clear sea and the beach! I have been a few times and each time, I'm still amazed at the beauty and tranquility of the place! The final hurdle is to get back up. Now you would assume this to be bad but it really isn't. I think it's because the sheer drops are behind you and you can't see so well. So once you have braved the first part, the rest is easy! There are plenty of places to stop on the way up to catch your breath and marvel at the view. Once at the top, there is a fantastic pub that serves good food and drink. It's worth booking ahead if you are going as it gets busy. It's well worth stopping for a quick pint at least to remember the moment that you spotted the final drop down to the beach... Then realising there's more to life than social media and video games! All in all, Pedn vounder is a fantastic hidden gem....But please think twice before taking young children or people that have medical conditions or weak legs... I don't think it to be a wise move. Regards Russell

July 2018. Without a doubt this is one if the most amazing, beautiful and outstanding beaches you will come across in Cornwall, having lived in Cornwall for a very long time I've came across many beautiful beaches and coves around the peninsula like kynance Cove, porthcurno etc ect but this one really does tick all the boxes. Park at Treen car park which is £2 all day...(ticket machine hidden besides toilets next to the shop)... if you park here then its a 15 minute beautiful coastal walk down to this beach, if you follow the lane up which is opposite the little shop right up till you reach the metal gate then turn left and follow down till you reach a cross path with a national trust rock...don't turn right here as that will take you to porthcurno..instead follow straight forward as if you were heading down hill with the national trust sign on your left from here it's quite a steep decent down so have good walking trainers on. When you hit the end there is a near on vertical climb/bum shuffle over rocks and boulders (you will proberly look at it from this point as being near on impossible but believe me it's doable) just take a 5 minute break and look at footings as to how to get down and you'll be fine it can be done for the able no but not recommended for the elderly or very young children altho I've seen disabled, young and elderly down here I would still not recommend the last part of the climb down but if you feel you can do it then its well worth it,we took our 3 year old and two teenagers down here but only because we felt they were able and was done in a safe controlled manner. When your down there you'll feel like your in paradise it really is a hidden gem here which if your able you'll be pleasantly surprised by....please be aware that that this has always been known a renowned nudist beach location so don't be shocked if you get an eyeful just respect each Other and enjoy your break, most of the time you'll find more people fully covered in swim wear but just be prepared if visiting this cove. Best time to visit is at low tide only reason I say this is because there is an island of sand which you can walk or swim out to and when on it you feel like your standing in the middle of the ocean and being this shallow is great with younger children (if able to get down safely).. but even at high tide is stunning and great fun beach. High tide does not cover this beach so is safe to be at during both high and low tide but please still respect the water and stay safe oh and enjoy 😉

Parking If you are coming with a camper van then treen farm campsite with a booking . If you are coming along for a day or so then the best option is car park at TR19 6LF The walk Head out of the car park and take the first left on the dirt track. Keep walking until you reach the treen farm campsite . Turn left at your ten oclock and take the more eroded dirt track. No Vehicles beyond this point please note.

Walk a good 5 minutes for a brisk slow walker until you see the sea Deep down below your eyes… you still cannot see the beach … coastal paths are clearly sign posted. Take the sign at 1 or at your 1 o clock and keep walking. You will get to. Point where it states path is closed to and as posted on my photos you will also see sign posting for pedn vonder and porthcurno beach… follow PV sign

The beach The final journey down to the beach is a clifff down under nose… it is not kids, pregnant women or the elderly … It is not recommended for someone who is not into adventure . Depending upon the time of tide it can be slippery too.

Avid campers and adventure doers - this is your paradise to be. The beach is secluded and rare a bird or two flocks here … you get to see the sea life such as seals puttting the head out.

Now the beach is a nudist spot / naturist … so if you can’t stand up to someone being naturist Tarzan then don’t come please.

STRICTLY NO DRONES. Let people enjoy their privacy … surely you wouldn’t want someone taking your photos with even clothes on without your permission so don’t snoop on.

Time to beach - it can take anywhere upto 25-30 minutes to get to the beach from the top of SW coastal path.

Water- it is super crystal clear gives you the effect of somewhere out of a normal UK beach.

Temperature of water -

On a Saturday morning at about 17 degrees temperature I did not feel the water is that cold. Now this could be due to the current the water generates it being a small cove ? May be some other use can correct or wrong me here … unlike on carbis bay or porthcurno you would feel more chilled …

Enjoy the beach and respect other...
