A Fantastic Gem of a Beach at the foot of the Minnack Theatre with shell sandy beach and Lush clean turquoise waters nestled between the cliffsides. Public pay and display car park, toilet block and nearby beach café a short walk away down along a stone / shingle and sand pathway several hundred metres to the beach or cliffside path from the Minnack Theatre. However this is a swimmers beach. With strong currents and tides (also rip tides) with a steep incline into the water with a ridge part way down means it gets deep quickly and the waves will break Directly onto the shorea close up and will spit you out quicker than you think and are not to be underestimated. Whilst great fun jumping the crashing waves onto the shore can be had with smaller children whilst stood on the beach, the back-wash can be very strong and not to be underestimated, and young children should be held onto. This beach is fantastic for body boarding and body surfing for stronger swimmers. And the depth plateaus once further out for those taller and able to enjoy swimming and are able to get beyond the initial incoming waves. There is plenty to enjoy for those who know what they are doing. Whilst there are RNLI surf life guards present during the regular usual daytime operational hours and operate the RNLI Red Flag safe swimming advisory system which is well advised on this beach, parental supervision is still advised. A Fantastic Beach (whatever the weather) if used and Respected...
Read morePorthcurno beach has to be the most beautiful, idyllic beach in the whole of the UK. The clear blue sea, golden sand and lush green surroundings makes it look like something out of a movie.
The beach it's self isn't thay big, it's more like a large bay or cove, situated between two cliffs with the most gorgeous vegetation and plants growing out from in-between the rocks. Pictures do not do this place justice, it truly feels like you're in another country.
A few things to note.
The beach it's self if pretty isolated, with only a small cafe and the global communications museum nearby. There is no bustling town or City within walking distance, so it's ideal soley for a beach day, as theres nothing else to do In the area. However plenty of cute villages to checkout around the area if you're driving.
The carpark machines only take coins, so make sure you bring some change! There is a carpark next door which I believe is part of the museum, here you can park and pay with card, but I believe its slightly more expensive per hour to park.
-Lifeguards are present on the beach, there are toilet facilities beside the carpark and the beach is dog...

The view from the cliffs as you walk down is amazing, once you get to the beach ⛱️ 😎, just sit, relax and let you worries faid away 😁. Bur the beach has a hidden history. Porthcurno was the location of british submarine cable station. Located close to the beach is the museum that will tell you a lot more than I can 😏. Parking is paid for by app, but this was well thought out as the area is poor signal, so you can paid by card at the machine located at the top of the car park. Just put in your reg before exit and pay for for the time you have been in the car park😁😁😁, why can all car parks not use this system 🤷♂️🤔. The only negative, is it's a bit of a walk from the car park to the beach, but it's not too far. There is also a beach cafe close buy, and also the Minak, you must see a show here. An absolute must visit, but be warned, it will get very busy in the summer, and the road is narrow, but please go, it's amazing and the water really...
