Perfect for children's play and picnic....but... Unfortunately there was a LOT of rubbish lying around, despite there being plenty of waste bins around the area. There was also the group's of young people intent on getting up to no good. I confronted a group of 5 boys and girls who were trying to set the rubber mats underneath the platform for the zip wire on fire! There were also an awful lots of small zipper bags lying around....most of us know what would have been in there.!! I really think it would be an advantage if there were park wardens/community police regularly checking the area out. Read moreIt has been don out recently and the council have done a fantastic job of it. The park has life to it, which is the obvious intention of public parks. The play areas are split, one for smaller children is fenced, which also has high climbing ropes and slides as well as smaller climbing frame and play frames for younger kids. My kids and all of thw kids I've seen there have loved it. Hopefully it stays this way and doesn't end up damaged by the very people it has been intended to serve.
Side note is that after some very rainy weather, there's a few water logging issues, so if it has been raining, don't take them in...
Read moreCalled at park after attending birthday party with twin grand children. OMG. We all loved it!!!. The new attractions were amazing. I even tried the zip slide at 65 years old!!. Good thinking on putting 2 zip slides on. Means kids can have a race!!. The 3 tier slide was a hit as well as obstacle course. Well done to all who had part in making this new addition to park. Very clean and welcoming. I was born and bred in southwick and Thompson Park was my main source of free enjoyment. Sooo many memories. And calling there today with my grand children...
