Walked into the bar side of the establishment, but staff were not very friendly in explaining there was a dining side. Both of our starters were excellent, and we had no faults or complaints whatsoever. However, the experience went downhill quickly when it came to the mains. I decided to go for meatballs, I was going to have this as a starter, but I decided to have it as a main. What a mistake I made!? Firstly when I placed the order the waiter seemed quite blunt (Italian chat)in relation to pasta options, the menu didn't have pasta options for the meatballs so this would have been handy. So I was put on the spot so just when for a familiar option. When my dish came it wasn't very well presented, lso there was only 2 meatballs but plenty of pasta. My girlfriend opted for the Gourmet pizza, it arrived and smelt very nice, it wasn't cut up tho, so I asked the waitress if she could cut up. The female waitress was very helpful and did this. When my gf tried eating the pizza it was evident that it was very floppy. I looked at the bottom and it looked like it needed a couple more minutes of cooking,.my Mrs tried to eat if with her knife and fork but she wasn't impressed. I decided to try her dish, but the base wasn't soggy but had become mushy, almost inedible. This was such a shame after fantastic starters. My gf's dish was taken away but I never got to ask why my dish only came with 2 meatballs. Service was...
Read moreThis is one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! I’m type 1 diabetic and the guy serving us must have noticed my insulin pump on my arm, he took our order and then came back over and asked if I wanted to know the amount of carbs in my meal so I could accurately inject my insulin, I noticed his medial alert wristband and asked if he was diabetic too as I’ve never ever had someone notice and know I need to count my carbs with being diabetic and he said he was diabetic too, he then asked what my insulin to carb ratio was and worked out for me how much I would need to inject based off the food I’d ordered. I’ve never been more appreciative of something in my life, he will have understood how hard it is eating out at a restaurant and just having to guess the carbs which usually leads to my blood sugars being out of range due to not getting it right. On top of this he came back at the end of the meal and asked how my blood sugar levels were! I didn’t catch his name but this guy is an asset to the business and I cannot thank him enough. The food and service was also absolutely amazing I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! Thank you for the best...
Read moreMy partner and myself came here for Sunday lunch and would never come again. Food was mediocre at best, and when I got to the end of the meal and wanted to take away my carvery I was told they would not box it up for me, as it states on the menu. I hadn’t noticed the menu which was obviously my fault, however when I asked for just the meat to take away they still refused. They gave the reason that people pile up their plates then ask to take it away - however in my opinion, if I have had a portion of meat served to myself (with no say on the portion size) then that is out of my control and if I can’t finish it and have paid for it I should be able to take it home. The manager told me it is different for carvery, but if I was to come in for pizza or pasta I could have leftovers boxed up as I don’t have a say in that portion size. Does this not prove my own point though? He kept repeating that if he did it for me he would have to do it for the rest of his customers - which I think he absolutely should as the same applies. He was very unhelpful and getting irate at me when I was pointing out the flaw in his...
