The Grange Hotel — Restaurant in Sunderland

Ate here tonight, ordered coffee which was cold, mentioned it to the gentleman behind the bar but didn't seem bothered as with the second cup ordered, in fact at on point he busied himself stocking glasses even though there was a queue of people waiting to be served leaving one young girl to deal with it. The was quite a wait for food, possibly due to the promotion they had tonight. When it eventually arrive, after approximately an hour or so wait, it was just say hot, the order of onion rings was sloppy and luke warm, not crispy as they should be. In saying that we did enjoy what we had, but it could have been a lot better. I did mention our concerns to a lovely young lady who was serving, she was rushed off her feet all night. It may be possible the food issue was due to being busy with the promotion, but regardless standard's should not drop. From what I over heard a few people had waited approximately 1 hour before their food arrived, which isn't really acceptable. Should promotions be offered to customers, then staffing should meet the footfall of people coming...

Been to the Grange pub in Sunderland their were 4 of us 2 others decided to join us which we were told only 1 xtra person could be added to the table their was lots of other empty tables only 1 other had a reserved sign we were told we would have to sit outside so we did, then we got moved from the table in the sun to the table outside the doors when eating our food 2 seagulls landed on our table our 2 young sons screamed and left their food one of the seagulls kept coming back I asked the manager as one of my friends and son left could the rest of us eat inside she said no as all tables were full (they weren't we had sat outside the doors and no one had entered) the manager came out chased the seagull then said you can come back in now so to me she was just been completely arsey with us and awkward it was freezing outside we were attacked by seagulls the food was cold we did not enjoy it it was empty inside and she could have just let us add one extra chair for someone we will not be going back again Ever!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a very nice experience...

Second time in two weeks we have been and disappointed. First time we went for food to be told a lot of the items unavailable due to supply (this is fair enough under the circumstances). Then decided to give another go yesterday. After trying to book a table this time using the app I was advised to ring due to demand. Rang the pub and requested a table which was available straight away. I asked if the full menu was available and not reduced choice at this time due to the experience the previous week, I was told that there was in fact a full menu available. Turned up at the pub 12 o clock which is opening time to be told there was no jacket potato's. We then sat down and decided the meals we would like to order, after going to order the food we were then told we could not have two out of the four meals we were ordering due to them not having certain items. The replacement meals we then ordered turned up looking very sparse on the plate with just a hand full of chips, no side salad and no tubs of dip like you...
