Excellent place to chill out and enjoy nature at its best. Part of the Tame Valley it runs along part of the Trans Pennine Trail next to the river Tame. Great for dog walking, cycling or horse riding. If you wanted to visit by car then parking is avaiable on Gibraltar Lane and its close to the Peak Forest Canal.

Today was my first visit after seeing it recommended on Facebook. Absolutely beautiful place, perfect for walking the dog or having a nice stroll and a picnic. There is also a dog friendly pop up cafe on the Denton side of the river. We will definitely be coming here again in the future.

The Haughton Dale Nature Reserve is between and by the Peak Forest Canal, the River Tame, and the edge of Haughton Green. People can enter freely at any time but be aware that much of the area is woodland and undergrowth. It is unlit and open to the elements. Some areas are very steep and/or slippery. A great place for spotting fungi as well as trees. Younger children should be supervised.

No tickets required No opening/closing times Common sense and respect for...

A privelage, to have such a picturesque, natural Woodward on our doorstep, for anyone that ever travels in the Haughton Green/Denton area of Manchester, i highly recommend you take a de-tour and take an hour or 2 to simple some of the sites and landscape this place has to offer. I Walk here every morning after i finish work, it works wonders for you both in a mental &...

Walk here most days, plenty of woodland walks, lots of other friendly Dog walkers. Some young girls on horse back can be a bit silly and arrogant but most of the horse riders stick to the bridal paths as they should. A few large fields for off lead excersise for Dogs, all are friendly but remember the transpennine trail is shared use and you should put your dog on lead...
