Beautiful village with cottages that have been very well preserved. Entry to this village and beach is through a visitor centre which charges fee around £8 per adult and it covers parking, village, Clovelly court gardens and museums. Before entering the village,we viewed a short 20min film of Clovelly which was interesting. However did feel that the film would do with a bit of updating😝 Beautiful cobbled path walk to the village is quite steep which is easy on the way down and slightly difficult on the way up. Views to the British channel are amazing. There are nice little shops like art gallery, post office selling ice cream and Devon pasties which would be good to explore on your way up. When you reach the top there are few shops of pottery, silk and handmade soaps and candles too. South west coast path trails also runs from there. Overall a delightful experience walking through a beautiful harbour village...

As this was in term time the village was so quiet and perfect to stroll around at our own pace. We used the jeep to get to the top as this was included in the Red Lion Hotel.

The attention to deal was when we noticed how thorough the morning workers (not sure what to call him) were while we had breakfast. This particular staff member was brushing and removing any loose rocks from the paths.

We recommend seeing the harbour at different times if you can as the tide and sun dramatically...

If there was a tourist trap disguised as a cobbled hellscape more perfect than this then I’d love to visit. If you have pushchairs, children under 4, or both and if you are disabled, COPD or just really lazy and in need of mindless holiday relaxation then this isn’t the mind bendingly overpriced jaunt for you. Sure it’s pretty in a tea-tray kind of way but it’s all built in a homogenous Edwardian way by the same family who has owned it since Uncle Willy came over from France nearly a thousand years ago. Highly recommend this trip for people full of self-loathing and hatred so they can rail on the...
