Stunning little town. Try The Cabin for old fashion sweets and hand made ice cream, lovely family run business. The Captains Table for fish and chip's is on the sea front and is best ever. Pier 36 for lunch, dinner, just pint or a glass of wine. We stayed many times at Pier 36. Bows Bells cafe breakfast is amazing and coffee to die for, best homemade granola too, this is a little hidden gem hidden round the corner from the Stormy Cup which is also lovely for cake and a cup of tea. You'll be spoilt for choice in this beautiful little seaside town. Also more off the beaten track is Millisle a stunning little seaside village 2 miles up the road following the coast for beautiful beaches to stretch your legs after visiting Donaghadee. The coastal route takes you all the way up towards Portaferry where you can cross Strangford Loch and drive through to the beautiful Castle Ward Park. Stunning scenery no matter the weather in all these places. We'll...

Business trip to Carryduff so we took time to drop by Donaghadee after exploring the coast.

Beautiful little harbour with a little play park and splash zone for youngsters to enjoy.

The water is clear, and at low tide there’s rock pools to investigate - be careful, it’s slippery. We sat and watched a group of sail boats not too far from shore as we took photos of the lighthouse/tower.

Recommend dropping by the Captains Table for amazing fish and chips - beware of seagulls, they’re more than happy to dive and grab!

The town centre is just a short walk from the harbour where we came across ‘irelands oldest pub’ and a place to pick up ice cream and ye olde sweets (pick n mix by the 1/4).

Beware - lost 1 star for the horrendous amount of flies at the harbour - we were covered in...

Nice walk for some fresh air, park at the Commons Carpark and walk along past the kids playpark, past the boat yard, Community Centre and you will see the Harbour in front of you. A cobbled traditional harbour awaits, housing the Lighthouse at the end. A beautiful arrangement of painted rocks are located at the start of the Harbour Wall displayed in Tiers. Despite being cobbled, I can walk along with pram easily down to the lighthouse and back again. Grab a take away coffee at Pier 36, the Captains Table or the Stormy Cup for the walk back...

We visit Donaghadee at least once a week and walk up to the common and back by the main road while it is a lovely little town it is let down by the amount dog faeces, there are several signs posted around the area but they seem to be ignored. While most dog owners are responsible, unfortunately some are not and this spoils what has got to be a super well kept town which caters for everyone's needs with a large variety of shops. Play area for children and free all day parking along the sea front.
