Even in a blowing gale Donaghadee is a lovely spot. Walking along the waterside to the harbour wall and onto the lighthouse is very nice on a beautiful day. It has been my pleasure to have experienced both weather types on separate visits here. Delighted that on my latest visit, during a beautiful clear sunny day, I was able to clearly see the coast of Scotland off in the distance. Whilst visiting during the good weather kids can blow off steam in the play area a few hundred yards from the lighthouse, along the waterfront. There’s even a very shallow paddling pool for tots.
