Stretford Mall has gone steadily downhill for the past 10 years, it’s still an okay place to shop if you’re in the area, and the new entrance and food hall does make it look a bit better. There’s potential for this place to be a thriving place again but I think developers need to step it up. One of the main issues is how quiet and dead the place is now, but that’s because there’s no new shops and the mall looks the same it did years ago. I’m 25 so I can’t say for what it looked like back then but the flooring, walls, furniture, etc are all the same as they were 15 odd years ago, for some reason it just looks like it’s still in the 70s in terms of the style inside. I think if there was a revamp of the interior to be modern, change the colour of the flooring, walls, update the furniture dotted around the mall, start adding some varied new and exciting stores, and change the way the exterior looks I think it would be popular again. The reason why trafford centre does so well, I think, is because of the way it looks and the shops it holds. If stretford mall did a total refurbish inside and outside it would definitely get busier
