Treated our friends to Christmas Carvery Lunch at Abbey Mill yesterday! Genuinely warm welcome from the staff and restaurant looked really festive. Food was beautifully presented and brought piping hot to our table. We chose the beef, turkey and salmon with all the trimmings and friends couldn’t stop talking about how tender the meat was. Desserts arrived to hushed silence - sublime! Then teas, coffees and mince pies at our leisure. Atmosphere was very jolly and everyone really enjoyed themselves. A super lunch shared with friends, really good value plus plenty of free parking. ‘Wish it could be Christmas every day’… at Abbey Mill!

Very picturesque and well appointed. Some wonderful shops, bars, restaurants and seating. Lovely old Mill parts visible and working. Took a nice walk and did some shopping. Aside from 1 member of staff in a little shop near the tea room everyone was lovely and cheerful, offering great conversation and service. The spirit of the green man shop was like a chunk of Glastonbury magic and I purchased a few beautiful and well priced items there, the gent that runs it is very nice, friendly and helpful

Some really pretty areas to sit and enjoy your surroundings with grass area for picnics, seating benches, pretty pond, water mill that comes on every hour or so and several craft and gift shops where you can find yourself a treat. There were also places to buy food and drinks that seemed popular with the tourists. Visit the gift shop dewn by the mill, the owner is really friendly and she sells some amazing glass art (look downstairs to see a huge range of gifts)

It is in a nice setting and looked very interesting, it was one of the places on our list to visit and I was looking forward to exploring. Unfortunately we had a very poor visit and left early, missing our planned lunch there. We had a bit of a drive and quickly looked around planning how we were going to make our way round finishing with lunch. I needed to use the toilet but there was nothing signposted so I popped into the information desk. There was a very pleasant lady there who said she didn't know where the toilet was, suggesting I spoke to someone in the cafe. I went there and was told the nearest public toilets were up the road in the grounds of the cathedral. That's a car drive away, and then back. I asked if they had toilets and I was told they have but only for customers. As I was not planning to have lunch there for a while I'd have to wait. No order, no toilet. It was too early to eat, and so we left for the cathedral. I'm 67 and have never experienced such awful customer service. It's a place you are going to have to drive to, in our case for over one hour, and no toilet facilities and an inflexible...

I've been here before a few times and would have previously described it as average. But my last visit will be my last. First I here after sitting down that they won't serve on all of the outdoor tables, despite having signs starting only food from there may be consumed. Then once we move I go in to order, at which point I'm told they will come over to take my order. 15 minutes later I go in to ask again when they will take my order. The same person who I tried to order from the first time, who told us she would come over, then tells us we have to order inside. After that and also overhearing then tell another group they would be charged to pay by card (illegal since January), despite this not being written down anywhere. I left at this point as there are other cafes around the area which have more reasonable prices and friendlier staff. I will be reporting the illegal card charge to Trading...

Sunday 7th November- Awful service, really badly treated. We wanted to order but the lady with the purple arm cast behind the counter didn’t want to serve us to eat in, so she directed us to a table for take away to have our food outside. I went in to change my baby, this was also a drama, just really rude attitude from behind the counter. Anyhow, baby nappy sorted on broken change table (dangerous). I get back out to my husband and we start to eat at the takaway table the woman behind the counter told us to sit at. Blissfully unaware, she come running out shouting we’re at her precious table and we need to leave, it’s for paying eat in customers and how dare we. I’ve never felt so unwelcome or embarrassed. I won’t come back to this area again, it has ruined a lovely day out, I felt like crying. Having just started to get over post natal depression this was the last thing I...
