A very disappointing experience, having popped in before a few days ago for a quick drink decided to try out the place for lunch. We ordered a kid’s meal which was okay and therefore gets the place 2 stars. A Caesar salad that was missing the croutons and parmesan cheese (basic requirements, I would suggest) along with any other of the possible ingredients such as a hint of lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, or black pepper. What we got was a bag of salad emptied into a bowl with a splodge of what appeared to be a dressing you could buy from Asda. (other supermarkets are available) Then there was a beef and horseradish sandwich which promised a side serving of coleslaw and crisps. The horseradish was missing completely and had to be requested, (a request that was not received that well) as was most of the coleslaw which although present would have had difficulty to fill a teaspoon, the coleslaw must have jumped ship with the crisps as only 6 small crisps remained. In addition, the cleanliness of the toilets left little to be desired maybe they could be cleaned by the staff that were sitting around doing nothing. A shame as the setting is great but this seems to be one more place to rip off...
Read moreWe went for a Sunday lunch carvery and the food itself was excellent! However the place was chaotic it looked like a school canteen with absolutely no atmosphere. We thought we would be eating in the restaurant side where there were white tablecloths and lovely fresh flowers on the tables but instead we were in the bar area, where walkers with dogs were in and out so it was very draughty. The two young girls who were I think waitresses wandered about totally clueless we repeatedly had to ask for the cranberry sauce that we were told would be brought over to our table. We were going to have a coffee after lunch but at 2.00 ish the lady shouted out no more hot drinks would be served! On entering it was very confusing where we had to go so we headed for the carvery to be told go to the bar and buy a ticket ! We did and found our reservation was non existent and the lady behind the bar asked if we had booked with Sean and told us we shouldn’t have done as 7 other people had turned up that she didn’t know or expect! Like I said the food was delicious but unfortunately the ambience and chaos means I don’t think we will be...
Read moreSuch a shame that she Manager of plas heli doesn’t speak a word of welsh seeing as he is in a welsh town.. and when i went there for lunch the other day there was a rather uncomfortable feeling as tho the workers don't want you there? So as soon as we finished our food we left. And when me and my friend were speaking welsh to each other we kept getting looked at funny 🏴 and i saw on facebook there was a thing going on outside as he described as “techno day” yesterday where loads of people come with different flags..there were england flags spain flag, United Kingdom, france.. the list goes on but not one single welsh dragon?? Starting to see a bit of a pattern. And yes the local welsh people could have come with their flags but we hadn’t heard of it at all?? Might just be very bad advertising i suppose 🤔🤔🤔...
