2023:The food we had tonight was exactly how we like it. Big tender delicious Tandori king prawns, great chicken pakora, tasty seekh kebabs and crunchy flavoursome onion bhajis. Plenty of salad and mint sauce. We didn’t have curries but will try next time. Very good quality. Edit: 4/9/24 very good food. Haven’t been for ages. But really enjoyed it. Was gonna write a new review but Google said I’d already reviewed here so thought I’d add an edit. Tasty. Edit:19/2/25: I do generally prefer this over the restaurant in the old Crown but tonight the takeaway was disappointing because of one dish. Ordered a lamb naga I think it was and the sauce was nice but the lamb awful. It was mostly so chewy that I had to spit out or leave 80% of the dish. I could only find 2 or 3 soft tender pieces. For me any restaurant that sells badly cooked chewy lamb like that needs to be reprimanded & scolded. It was expensive too at £13.99. Such a disappointment. Items ordered and paid for were not in 'take away' bag when opened at home, upon phoning admitted they had made an error , as such ask if they would send missing portions out. No sorry we are too busy, no one available to bring over ( only 5 miles away,) . After long discussion they agreed to send by taxi ( after I suggested it )., took address and will be there in 15 mins . but never arrived. Absolutely despicable customer service . Extremely disappointed, especially as a past regular customer.. food that did arrive was nowhere near as good as usual. if this is how regular customers are treated need I say any more. In short I would suggest to avoid at all costs when busy ( that being weekends and tourist season ) because its quite evident that standards drop, and loyalty to regulars is non existent. On holiday with family. We waited 40 minutes for our takeaway, when we arrived to collect we then waited a further 40 minutes. We were a big group & ordered 9 - 10 different curry dishes. The food was very bland & not of a good quality. They got one of the dishes wrong & we ended up with an extra meat dish instead of a vegetarian dish. The king prawn curry contained a unshelled prawn which was initially bitten into. To top it all off, dispite it being an order of over £100, they still charged us for the poppadoms & they forgot to put In the extra raita. Had it not been so late, we would have returned the food.
