Reedswood Park has changed drastically over the last 30 years. It used to have a car park where on a sunny summer's afternoon people would gather to soak in the environment from the comfort of their cars. That era ended when the car park was closed as part of the clampdown on some troubling illegal activities that were occurring.
It used to have tennis courts, changing rooms and two full size football pitches (plus a smaller size pitch) where teams competed in the Bloxwich Combination and Black Country Alliance football leagues. They were inexplicably removed by the council.
Now, as parks go it's just about ok.
It has a small kids playground area with a few of the usual types of facilities, swing, climbing frame, etc. It also has an unusual outdoor gym set which gets used quite often.
Other features include a cycle/skate board 'ramp', a cricket 'pitch' and a very small football pitch with some small goalposts.
People tend to use the park for walking their dogs but you'll see the occasional cricket match or football game taking place too.
In terms of nature you can expect to see a small variety of birds, some attractive plant life and perhaps the odd hedgehog or fox if you're...
Read moreA basic park made up of grass, trees, exercise area, wild grass area for wild life and a play area for children. Basically a place to please everyone. A great place for dog walkers, parents with children of all ages and people who want to go there for exercise on the free to use equipment. There isn't a carpark unfortunately but we found a street to the rear of the park with enough space with free parking. The park was very quiet and peaceful with no sign of the bench warmers usually found in parks we've been to lately. All in all I'd recommend this park for dog walkers, people with children of all ages and people who just want to get away from it all. I forgot to mention that there is a caged area for basket ball and football. Could of been for tennis too but did...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem in Walsall and great for all sorts of activities. I mainly use it for walking/jogging as the distance you've done is painted on the footpath as you go around which is a nice touch and bit of motivation to keep going; there's also plenty of benches if you need a break.
There's a nature reserve at the back, a kids' play area, picnic benches, outdoor gym, basketball court, and mini skate park. The park is really well kept and they've added in some QR codes that show you their bee preservation efforts, which is really nice.
It would be good to see more flowers and colour around the park, but it is all natural with plenty of trees around it and...
