The Alma Inn — Restaurant in Walsall

I know a lot of the reviews on here are glowing and I went there recommended by several friends, but I must speak as I find.

I thought the staff were lovely and the service all round really good. Now I'm a bit of a curry fiend and was looking forward to trying some of the more unusual dishes on the menu. Unfortunately, nothing wowed me. It was "nice" but that's all I could say for it. I found the portions a little small, and one dish I found only two small pieces of meat in. Fact is, when I got home, I found myself still hungry so had something to eat there.

So, to be really honest, I wouldn't rush back there. When at least two of my friends gave me glowing reports on the food and they are people who know their curries, I wonder if I just arrived on an off night?

The place itself is very nice, it started to get busy and noisy around 8 o clock. I wouldn't say don't go there, but have a look what other people are ordering to see...

I will never return to this place again. It is very (very) rare for me to complain! The attitude of the manager was appalling. The chicken piece (from a mixed grill) was clearly under cooked and so tough to cut! As well as cold. Manager came over, no apology and poor customer service. Offered to swap that one piece of chicken!!! I Asked for all the chicken pieces to be replaced, she asked me why ?! And told me to try the other chicken pieces as they may be ok?! Expecting me to check the chicken pieces whilst she stood there! What a weird and bizarre experience. Not forgetting to mention uncomfortable. Any manager with decent customer service would have swapped the whole tray! Also the manager pointing her finger towards the table was odd too! Not seen that before. Anyway … my point is, I will not return & do not recommend this...

What a lovely time my family and I had at The Alma Inn Thankyou all at The Alma Inn! ❤ The Occasion was for a meal for my dad's 82nd and my birthday!🥳 ❤ The food was so good and the service was on top, the atmosphere was wonderful made you feel comfortable and the staff couldn't do enough for you! 20 meals delivered to the table hot and more or less together 💯 Dad had traditional fish chips and peas he really enjoyed it, I had chicken Madras steamed rice and chips and it certainly was real good! My other family members all had different meals and not 1 had a complaint, enjoyed by all!, all our meals were well portioned and you get your moneys worth 💯. The premises was very clean and well looked after ! We all would definitely recommend whom hasn't visited The Alma Inn to visit! We will definitely be...
