The Lion Bar & Club — Restaurant in Walsall

Extremely disappointed went there for a night out on a Friday night and after paying for a taxi to Walsall were told that the venue was closed for a private party. We were informed we could sit and wait for the function to be over and might be able to go in the club later. I came with my son and his partner and we're very disappointed that the only gay venue in Walsall had been closed for a straight party when they have the rest of Walsall for this! The calibre of young people in there for this party were rude, arrogant and very crude not good examples of young people .... no manners. The rest of Walsall is now awful and it seems these people are now allowed to take over a gay venue. There was nothing on the website to say that the venue was closed for a function which would have saved us a wasted journey and could have gone somewhere worth while. This was a place for people to go to get away from the usual people that are now out in Walsall. None of us will be attending the club again...

Was having a great night at this venue, I think they did an amazing job at having a charity night for (BHS) British heart foundation, I’m all for that, however I was un impressed by the staff who threatened to remove us from the venue for turning the outside music up a little, as this boosted the atmosphere and ultimately our group was purchasing more drinks, I was then confronted by the licensee.

this really put a downer on the night in my opinion, as he stated that they can’t have loud music on outside as the local neighbours witch is understandable, but I wouldn’t have music on at all if it caused an Issue, personally won’t be attending again spent a lot of money at the venue just to be treated like crap really. Very poor and venue had next to no customers in on a Friday night. Wouldn’t recommend as staff are very poorly trained but of embarrassment to...

No idea how this place has a 4.5 star review. The staff are rude, the music is awful, no atmosphere and the management speak about u behind your back. Total waste of a night out wont be having a penny of my...
