Whitehead is a great place for a walk. You can enjoy a gentle stroll by the sea or you can challenge yourself and climb the steps up to the lighthouse where the view over Belfast Lough is well worth the effort. This is a well known and popular walk and as a result can be busy so I would advise that you pick your time wisely especially if you are searching for solitude. It's very popular with dog walkers. I like it because I'm a bird watcher. The shore birds are used to people and this allows for some close up views which you may not get elsewhere. Great! Public toilets are located beside the children's play park not at the shore side carpark. There's a Maud's café near the train station so you won't go hungry or thirsty. Overall, well...
