Called in after a dip at Gleno waterfall. Luckily enough, one of our group of four had won a voucher in a competition. First impressions were good, very busy on a Sunday morning. Took one of us to go up to the counter to get menus as no one came near us. Seemed like it was a self service sort of thing and you had to order at the counter. Tried to order sausage and egg baps, which were on the menu, only to be told they were only for kids, and that we couldnât order them as we had no kids with us. So our order consisted of a vegan sausage roll, which was quite nice, a beef sausage roll, which was just average. A sausage, bacon and egg pancake stack, which consisted of two cold pancakes, a very minimal drizzle of maple syrup, a hard single rasher of cold bacon, a single, luke warm sausage and a going cold egg. Disappointing to say the least @ÂŁ9.50. One of our group ordered a plain scone and received a raspberry scone, when the waiter was told, that it was supposed to be plain, he replied âoh, thats a raspberry sconeâ and walked away. The coffee wasnât bad to be fair, but its as well we had a voucher, as the food was a real let down. All in all, definitely wouldnât...
Read moreMe and a group friends of mine happened to visit this small cafe. The cafe on its own looks lovely with dark aesthetic and comfy atmosphere asthe architecture of this place is just amazing. But it's a pity the service and food are so bad even though the menu looks nice. The first thing is, staff brought us milk tea while we were waiting for our main dish. Tasted like they just put warm water in tea and added some milk. I barely could drink it but my friend refused to even try a sip. Besides, we waited more than half an hour to get what we ordered although those who came later than us somehow got their dishes before than us. Secondly, three of us ordered three same dishes, however, my friend didn't have the black pudding and me with other person got it somehow. Beautiful outside terrible inside, not recommended and we would never...
Read moreWe walk often through Whitehead out to the lighthouse at Blackhead point, and back. Yesterday we primed ourselves with breakfast at the Kings Road coffee shop. I had a large fry which was, honestly, better than I've been served in some very high end hotels. Every ingredient was top quality, everything very dry and well cooked, presented neatly and the taste was excellent. My wife had poached eggs on brown toast and the eggs were done to perfection. This is a gem of a place, and I hope it continues providing this high end offering for years to come! If you're on your way north to Ballycastle etc well worth spinning off into Whitehead for brekkies here! Highly...
