Tam o shanter is definitely not what it used to be,seems to be fewer and fewer animals, each time we go there and the cafe prices are extortionate!.nice grassy area, though, where kids can play and there are picnic tables.bring your own food!.the cafe is awfull and overpriced....update 2024..this is a nice place to take the kids and family for a picnic(bring your own food!),lovely grassed area with play area for little ones, but, the cafƩ is still extortionate and there are still fewer and fewer animals every year. Plenty of ducks, but apart from that, just a couple of goats a few pigs,in a large pen where the kids don't get close up to fully appreciate them. Still, the little un's seem to enjoy it, but,as an urban farm,it's not brilliant. Other farms I've visited have much more for the kids to interact with animals and video and slide shows to encourage kids' appreciation of animals. Can't help thinking there's a lack of drive and thinking by those who run...

The farm itself, however, I can't rate more than 3 stars. Premises with animals are quite dirty, you can't look past it and if you compare this farm with, let's say, Church Farm, there you can tell the animals quarters are way better looked after. If you come with kids of different age, it's a problem because the "toddler" playground and "older kids" playground are way apart, and unless you've got two or more adults, they cannot play together or close enough to each other. Having said that, the "toddler" one isn't exactly toddler-friendly, either. Cannot rate the cafe as we didn't use it on the day but walking past it, it did feel cramped and too small for visitors. So won't be coming ahain. Resume: don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love bringing my toddlers here, we always have lots of fun especially in the little area that has the mud kitchen, tunnel, boat etc. today we where playing there and a very angry lady stormed over and told us we need to put everything back as it was - as she had spent 2 hours setting this all up for a school the previous evening. We where confused my toddler girls where only playing on the stepping stones and having fun in the tunnel, There was no signs saying we couldnāt play in there and there was other members of the public with their kids playing too! Although they had left when the lady came over, we left immediately as she came in and started organising the pans and pots. We hadnāt moved anything they were just playing, such a lovely farm but this has really put me off coming back. If the public canāt use this area then a sign needs...
