jamaican jerk — Attraction in Woking

Living in London for over 40 years and eating from 50+ Carribbean restaurants/ takeaways, having a Carribbean heritage, being married to a Trinidadian and travelling to the Carribbean at least once a year, I feel I am qualified to review Jamaican Jerk's authenticity and quality.

I first ordered from Jamaican Jerk two days ago and it was so good that two days later I wanted to order again. Unfortunately it was on a Sunday and they were closed, which left me contemplating just how much I enjoyed their food, hence this review.

Portions were reasonable and the quality and taste was one of the best I've had in the UK. Using their website it's clear they are mindful of food allergies and being able to send the chef notes on any requirements is a nice bonus.

I ordered directly from them, rather than deliveroo or Just eat, which meant I saved 20% plus delivery costs, but had to collect. Being a business operating out of a home is slightly different to anything I've experienced in the U.K, but they do give you home cooked authenticity.

I had the curried goat, which was spot on, flavoursome and perfectly cooked. My wife had the jerk chicken and she said with enthusiasm it was "really good".

Did a takeaway today. A fantastic find in this lockdown! I was longing for Caribbean food and found this place on Google. Looked up the good reviews and decided to take the plunge! Ordered the Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat alongside Rice & Peas and plantains.

If you are looking for restaurant style food - this is not the place to get food from. But if you like Caribbean food and love honest, home cooked good comfort food, just try this one....I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed! When I came back (good 15 mile drive) and had my dinner, I just felt that I was eating delicious food straight out of the kitchen and could definitely feel the love and effort they have put in the preparation of the food!

If anyone wants to look up my reviews, the last Caribbean food that I had tried was from Turtle Bay Staines and that left a lot to be desired (humble personal opinion) but this one just made my day.

Godalming was a bit on the far side fpr delivery, so this week we drove to collect, aching for some proper jamacan, and man! This place did not let us down... tastey as it comes!! Really delicious.. so tender and full flavour. Nice rum sponge cake... supreme goat curry and oxtale!!! Nice rice n beans... the jerk chicken surprised me a bit... not so crispy but with a dark liqour sause.. melt in the mouth! And very very morish... gonna be making friends with that couple... least thats what it looked like as a business.. home based... so you cant get much closer to home cookin than that! Nice people. Defo worth an hour round trip... lovely country roads... summer coming... easy......
