Nice sheltered shingle beach within Shoreham harbour, next to the lifeboat station, popular with anglers, swimmers and launching small water craft like SIBs and paddleboards

A real gem of a beach right next to the lifeboat station. Limited Free parking which is a rare thing these days.

Not big and not a lot here. Can be either quiet or rammed.

There is a lighthouse right on the beach. There is also a taxi service for illegal migrants located here. They also go out to sea and rescue native humans in trouble.

The beach itself is harsh pebbles. Some of these are glass and concrete blocks.

There are lots of underwater objects. At low tide you can see concrete, rebar, wood and all sorts. There is a silt bed exposed at low tide.

The beaches sits on the entrance to Shoreham Harbour. There are signs showing so not swim areas as boats (some of them big) come by. It's also the exit for the river adur where 6miles upstream at Steyning the sewage plant discharges into the river - or use to. I'm not young anymore to spend summer holidays around the river to see the colour change.

A few years ago there use to be a Seal that used these waters. Not been seen for a while and most likely moved on.

The ramp into the car park isn't too bad. Unlikely you'd get a Ferrari or Lambo down but anything else should be fine.

There is a height restriction barrier. VW camper, Ford Transit you would be fine but roof box on top of that might be an issue.

Not recommended for wheelchair users. Car park is gravel. No designated spaces that I could see and footpaths are...

It's a handy beach for me when it's too rough to swim in Brighton and it's pretty sheltered. The downsides are that you can't swim there anywhere near low tide .. it's mud. And at mid-tides you have to watch out for various underwater objects that can gash your legs unless you've been there at low tide so know where they are and how to avoid them.

That said, there's a v friendly bunch of regular swimmers and,...

A good place to park up and watch the comings and goings of Shoreham Port. RNLI Boat House and shop, when open to the public you can go and view the lifeboats. Sauna regularly open on the beach with plunge pool, and the opportunity to watch (or join in with) the cold water swimmers. Rowing Club also close by. Some car parking. No toilets. Dog friendly...
