Lovely place by the sea but awful food and service... went with my partner, and we waited for near on 15 minutesfor them to notice us standing by the cohnter... We wanted lasagne but the ovens were broken so we had cheesy chips and they said they can only fry things.... then they gave us plain chips so my partner had to go back in and ask for cheese...they had actually given us someone else's order, so they finally did our chips... we ordered 3 small trays of cheesy chips and 2 teas... we got 2 trays and the most stewed and undrinkabke tea I've tasted in a long while.... so off my partner went to find out where the 3rd tray was and to change the teas.... she was blanked and then talked down to by the staff in a very condicending way apparently but after 10 minutes returned with 2 tepid but drinkable cups... by this time all the chips were cold and because they had microwaved the chips and cheese, all the fat had come out and the cheese had gone solid on the bottom.of the tray... I asked the guy clearing tables whether he ever ate the cheesy chips here and he said they were good and he liked em and that the manager said they had to microwave the cheese as they can't wait for a grill to melt the cheese.......... my partner started complaining of a stomach ache on the way home and I was feeling just as bad by bed time... very nauseous and kept running to the loo.. We got £8 off the £11 bill and I won't ever eat here again. I'll pack...
Read moreI went to carot cafe today since it’s lovely weather and a good price for food since I’m from area and my mum visiting.
When I arrived, it was full of customers and where Father’s Day I do understand so I waited 10/15 minutes near by and got seat.
(Waiting time) - When we order food we was told 40 minute wait, again I understand it’s Father’s Day and it’s busy. 40 minutes passed and our food was no where to been seen and questioned matter considering nobody outside was receiving their orders either. I questioned with one staff and they said it’ll be a while longer and I said okay again, as I thought a while longer would be 5/10 minutes not another 20-25 minutes. Im sorry but what is going on? I shouldn’t have been waiting for my food for over 60 minutes…. I was not impressed
I’d like question why nobody is cleaning tables either? Absolutely disgusting the amount dirty tables and nobody cleaning them? I saw people just dumping dirty stuff on chairs and was sitting there for 20/30 minutes.
Food wasn’t good either, it wasn’t worth wait, by time it arrived, I could have got a better breakfast meal at McDonald’s.
The staff don’t seem care, either. Need older generation taking lead of front of house because young ones don’t seem have a care in world or customer service support, to provide...
Read moreGood, basic food but pricey. Not too welcoming but OK. The sea view is basically the shoreside view of the shingle bank with a ribbon of sea above. Some view !?!
We arrived hungry after a beach walk. I ordered a £6.50 fry-up with extra eggs (£1 each) and coleslaw (£1.50). £10 for an average lunchtime snack. Mmm... Looked at a small bottled beer but at £4.50 I asked for tap water instead.
Table not clean and not cleaned by staff bringing out the food. My good lady did it with a couple of napkins and table water (now I know why it's called that). When my meal arrived I had a kid's portion of chips. Asked for more. A robust woman ( possibly Spanish or Italian accent) appeared from the kitchen with some chips but humiliated me in front of everyone in the place, telling me the portion I got was what came with the meal and if I'd wanted more I should have ordered a side order at £3, as if I was some sort of chancer. Not a chancer, just hungry. That should have been obvious from the plateful I ordered.
As for the coleslaw, my wife had a baked spud with cheese. Beautiful. Lots of cheese. Came with salad including coleslaw which she neither ordered or wanted. I could have had that instead of paying £1.50 for a couple of tablespoons of the stuff. First visit....
