Sand Run Metro Park-Big Bend Area — Attraction in Akron

We hiked the trail at Big Bend. First know that all water fountains are covered and closed. Second the trailhead bathrooms had a sign on one door stating they were closed. So, enjoy your hike but, don't count on the facilities. The trails were very busy. I thought if I heard "to your left" one more time! Well, it seems there were a lot of bikes out there with a few runners, a few dog walkers and numerous hikers. This being the case you may want to plan your visit in the earlier morning hours. Very BEAUTIFUL park, with great walking paths. There is the gravel sand like path, that is very level and easy to walk, then there are the hiking paths that wrap around through beautiful scenery and they are a little more strenuous if that is what you like.
