This place is an addiction. Before I go further, the szechuan menu is undoubtedly the highlight. We've come here innumerable times, and it has become, at its most infrequent, a weekly drug for us. Recurring dishes include mapo tofu, kung pao tofu, eggplant in garlic sauce, garlic bokchoy, veggie lo mein (it's somehow better without the proteins), spicy crispy fish filets, and tofu fish filets in bean sauce. My girlfriend, who doesn't even like fish, is a big fan of the last two dishes. The portions are very generous, save for the last mentioned dish. The portion for tofu fish filets in bean sauce is downright monstrous (if dining in, it is served in a large casserole dish). We've only encountered one mistake with an order in the past, and it was resolved expediently and professionally. The owner is very kind (and funny). This restaurant is also one of the few places that is outstanding both for dine-in and carry-out. Carry-out is quick and well packaged. I want to order now just writing about this place.

Wow! What a surprise. Their menu is different than most Asian restaurant/takeouts which is what drew us to them. We decided to give them a try and we are so glad we did. We had the vegetable dumplings. A bit smaller than regular dumplings but much more delicious and they don't taste like they were pulled from the freezer like most takeout dumplings. We had Dried Sauteed String Beans which was very good, but my least favorite of the 4 things we had. Sour and Spicy shredded potatoes was a curiosity more than anything but it was delicious. Cooked perfectly with great flavor. We had Pad Thai without egg and it was phenomenal. The dish had an interesting red hue to it. Great flavor. And then what I think was my favorite dish, General Tsos Tofu. Tofu can be bland and not cooked well in some takeout dishes. Not this one. Tofu had a bit of a crunch but with excellent texture and flavor. Just the right spice. This place is our goto now. Really excellent.

I'd give this a 0 if I could. The place had like plastic on the tables and the wait staff didn't understand english very well. We had some issues but they would just stand there and look at us. But the food was terrible except for my phili roll. My pad Thai was spongy and over cooked. It had the consistency of slime. I gagged and couldn't eat it. It's also red, which is strange. My husband's chicken teriyaki was chicken on a bed of onions. Literally. All onions and 2 carrot sticks with 1/4 an ear of corn. Covered in pepper. My mother's chicken hibachi tasted of fish and was 99% pepper when it came to the seasoning. It was very greazy and inedible. My diet coke was expired. The staff didn't seem to understand the word expired. I don't like making a scene, scene, so I'm paying for my soggy pad Thai. But I wouldn't go here. It's not good at all. The sushi was good, but sushi katsu is literally across the street and 100% better. 0/10

Alright so let's just be real here for a minute. Having the word "Sushi" in the name of your restaurant should probably mean you've committed to preparing it properly and at least with a shred of dignity. I was on vacation visiting my Grandmother and she took my wife and I here. If my lovely, sweet grandmother wasn't around I'm pretty sure my wife would have flipped out completely as she's Eastern European and takes food very seriously. First problem right away was they didn't serve sake, ok that's weird and annoying, but I'll let it slide. The next issue was we open the menu to the apps and they show a pic of grilled squid, yet no grilled squid on the menu...my wife asks for it and apparently they will do it, however I don't recommend ordering it unless you enjoy gnawing on pure rubber. They put a sweet and sour sauce on it (not proper) and we ended up sending it back as it was inedible; absolutely unacceptable, they didn't even attempt to make it right. Then came the sushi...and I use that term very loosely. First off it was lukewarm and almost tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp as the plate was warm. The "fish" they use is a blend..NOT FRESH..a blend...I've NEVER seen this. If you order a roll with salmon/yellowtail/tuna...that's exactly what you get, accept it's in paste form. A mashed up blend of fish that I fear probably comes from a giant tub. No actual pieces of fish at all, just this nasty mix of garbage. Our rage was building at this point, but we held it in for grandma's sake, it was awful as the prices of this stuff was high to boot. We also ordered fried eggplant, which came out late and was all breading and very little eggplant, disgusting, and house lo mein. The lo mein was the only thing palatable all night, and it was borderline. The noodles were overcooked and only some of the shrimp were de-veined...Anyways, I think I've beat on "Sushi" Asia Gourmet enough for one day, it's only a sushi restaurant in the same was McDonalds is a burger joint. I wouldn't recommend this place to...

What a gem this place is! I don't know how long they've been around because we just moved to the Akron area, but wow. What bang for your buck. Amazing Sushi!

Fresh. Authentic. Clean. Not the largest spot, but the quaint space adds to the vibe. Omg. The OMG ROLL is amazing! Tastes like no other sushi I've ever had. This place is probably easily overlooked because of all the other competing business/restaurants in the Valley, but it was some of the best food I've eaten.

Everyone was chill, they accommodated our little one (2yo little charmer, whom the ladies who attended us loved, and her, them) and didn't seem bothered by her louder than life noise level. Even the other patrons- whom I felt the need to apologize to because my kid was being a kid and ruining the ambience lol- were so nice and understanding. Surprising how busy it got, as we were a little early for dinner rush, apparently...

It was a lovely meal- about 68$ +tip for the 2 ½ of us, including-miso soup, great shumei, a fantastic ginger dressing salad, sashimi AND other sushi rolls, the OMG specialty roll, tea, rice, tempura Veggie plate. Got the sushi/sashimi dinner box combo-most of that food came with the platter- that dinner combo ALONE was enough to feed us 3 Seafood lovers who were starved.

Food came out quickly, presented well, it was spot on. The eel and spicy tuna rolls were mine and the kid's favorites- yes my toddler loves sushi and Will eat Good. Spicy. Food. She would not stop pulling food towards, asking for more, using every word in her vocabulary to describe how tasty it was lol. Mm, mmm, mm!

As seafood lovers/sushi addicts 😊 We've been to a majority of the greater Cleveland area's "good" sushi spots, and this place is now in contention for our #1 go-to... upset with ourselves it took us this long to find it. Can't wait to taste what else is on the menu!

The best review i can give- from my toddler's mouth, "shoooshy is delicious. Love it! Now let's go home for napping" 😆 5 out 5...

Just ate there today and I can hands down, as someone who is very picky about fish, say that this is the best sushi I have ever had. The presentation, combined with the respect of staff, makes for such a lovely experience. I get anxious at most other food places, but here it is like I am coming home for a celebratory meal.

The fish they serve, across the board, comes through with their unique flavors and reminds me of the fish that one can get from a local market. The other offerings, particularly soups, are never over salted and thus the broths never overwhelm the ingredients.

Their salads are fresh and crisp as well, and I would definitely buy their ginger dressing if I could as it seems homemade.

Their dishes of beef and chicken are so authentic and tasty that I don't feel like I am eating americanized sauces or broths, and their rice is never soggy or too dry.

Their tempura is super good too!

The staff I can't speak well enough of; they are like family. Whenever my girlfriend and I don't eat there for a while, they always ask how we have been.

That all being said, this place is my favorite for comfort food and a little slice of something different. Whenever I need something to make me "live to eat", Sushi Asia Gourmet is the place to remind me that I have come far enough since starting to eat there to do so.

Thank you, Staff of S.A.G. for your devotion to food. I hope business keeps picking...
