Noisy Oyster Pub — Restaurant in Akron

This is my first google review - and I wanted to take the time to do this because I was absolutely appalled by my experience here. I love seafood, especially oysters, clams, mussels...you name it I'll eat it. I was very excited when I found this place close to my workplace, I figured it would be a great lunch location.

Let's start with the good...the bartender was very friendly. Sadly that is where the good stops.

I got 1lb of Clams for $7.95 1doz raw oysters on the half shell for about $12.95

The clams were over cooked and very very small. The oysters were inedible in fact I managed to swallow 4 and spit the 5th one out. The oysters were not fresh, I am pretty sure they had been frozen, because part of the oyster was still solid, while the rest of the oyster was actually warm, which leads me to believe they were frozen and they used hot water to defrost them (which anyone in the seafood industry knows is the quickest way to make someone sick).

I would not recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever be...

I have by and large had outstanding experiences at this place. I usually have sampled the place at 18:00 on Wed., and although parking is tight (park across the street) the drinks as always are well priced and the clientele is civil. Parking on other days is better. The food is safe and the kitchen is clean. I did have a negative on this night @ 16:30, when I asked the only worker in an empty bar to read a paragraph that had gotten me myself to think. She freaked out, stated that she refuses to read anything that could be political unless she knows who wrote it, and attributed that to teaching to her mother. I think she lies; I blame university. Anyway, that did not make me happy spending any more time in that presently empty bar. Truth. So, I guess if all that seek safe spaces flock to this place, she will not find her calling? Review: I was a little worried about this place not going to lie. The price and name really through me off. I mean who offered wings this cheap these days? Let me tell you I am beyond impressed with this establishment. The price was a crazy deal. Reminds me of the gold old days. Key highlights are seat yourself, good service, and no bad/throwaway wings. I got hot like usual. It was the perfect amount of heat and flavor. Wings were juicy as well, but on the smaller side but acceptable for the price.
