Chickasaw Branch Library — Attraction in Alafaya

First time I went was 2 days ago to book a room for today Wednesday 01/24/2024. 2 days ago when I went staff was really good, very helpful even made a lot of conversation with an employee very friendly. The problem today Wednesday was that I went to the front to tell them that the AC was not working I told the guy and the lady that was right next to him which I think she's like a manager there I think her name was Abby something like that I might be mistaken with the name but I think is her she was going to take care of it I said ok. I go back to the room 30 mins go by and nothing with the AC is not even working no AC at all in a little small room. And they were already helping some other people. So I seen this other employee I stopped her explained to her she was going to talk to the same lady I had spoken before I'm like no I already spoke to her but she seen me talking to the employee I stopped so she came our way n told me that this room is like this and I told her but there's nothing coming out she said that's just the way this room is and started walking away in other words you deal with it that's your problem not mines that's what it made it seem that's not customer service at all she didn't even care. Me sweating and going to have an interview and heavily breathing. That was terrible customer service. Not good at all . Review this manager. They should say that this room does not have AC properly or even No AC at all like it happened for me. I was not going miss my Job interview but was really...

To my understanding (at least I thought ) a Library is for learning, computers are for learning. I walk in on Friday to pick up my kids after school and a older woman from the after school program approaches me and ask bout my kids and explains the rules of the after school programs telling me they have paperwork signed n backed up by lawyers n manager that I can speak with them if I didn’t like it, repeating it more than 5 times aggressively, I asked her to stop repeating the same thing to relax n breathe, I’m trying to understand what the program does and why my children being watched by my older child is not allowed to be on the computer doing Iready (learning program or cleaver) or homework from school. She said students from last year ruined in for students this year. She kept telling me if I didn’t like it they didn’t need to be in afterschool programs. I asked her if they helped with homework she said we ain’t babysitters😂. They can read books or sit in the room till I pick them up. I’ve dealt with staff in this branch and they are usually very helpful, amazing and nice it’s amazing how one bad apple can ruin it for the rest...

All of my books were supposed to be due on the same date. Half of them all of a sudden were due a week earlier and I owed $20. I feel as though the library is trying to focus on profits rather than providing a service. At other libraries I’ve frequented they would regularly waive fees if there was a misunderstanding, or just because they realize that a lot of people who come to the library don’t have money. Not at this one. And I’ve always paid my fees and never complained. Even when I go there to get pages printed and go home to find that they were all printed incorrectly(the workers took care of it rather than show me how to use the machine even though I’ve asked many times for instruction) and useless.
