The track at the dome is like the wild west. It is a free for all for anyone to do what ever they want to do. It is extremely unorganized. There are signs marking what lanes to walk, jog, and run in but people do not follow the directions. People also walk the wrong way on the track and many times children are unsupervised zig zagging from the walking to running lanes without looking behind them to see what is coming. People working out will randomly put their work out equipment on the track while other people are walking and running on the track. Organizations like UAA, Skinny Raven, and the Anchorage Running Club will rent out the track but the dome still allows members to use the track. The employee at the front desk said members can always use lanes 5 and 6 on the track when the track is rented out. We were really confused when UAA was all over the track even lanes 5 and 6. Michael Friess is the head coach for UAA and he was extremely rude to my wife, my one year old son, and myself. He told us it was his track and we were causing a problem. He walked over to the magagers of the dome and told them that we were that 1 percent of people causing a problem on his track during his practice. We were so confused since the information at the front desk of the dome and Michael Friess were saying two different things about track availability. Michael Friess was disrespectful, and handled the situation very unprofessionally. The best time for our sons schedule to go walking is 11:30, but thanks to Michael Friess that time is taken every week day on the track. We are cancelling our membership at the dome due to the lack of organization and the way we were treated by...
Read moreI can’t say enough great things about our experience planning a birthday party at the Dome. From the moment we inquired about holding a party, the staff was super responsive and thought of everything. The staff really went above and beyond in making my son’s 6th bday a smashing success. We had 35 kids ranging from 3-7 and they set up 2/3 of the field for laser tag and put soccer goals and active play toys on the remaining portion for the younger kids. They had 2 staff members running the laser tag so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The renovated party room is also amazing. Even with 35 kids and their parents, it never felt crowded. Can’t...
Read moreMy family attended the Hobby Event at the Dome today. It was FABULOUS! So much to see, and the way they included kids in different hobbies and things to do was impressive. Well done, whoever arranged this! The Dome had tons of room inside with a great walking track. Highly recommend for any sports or event needs!
Note: Dog in photos is a legal working child service dog. This is NOT a pet friendly location. I was happy to see that Dome is service dog friendly. Also was happy to see workers made someone leave who attempted to enter into the event with an 8-10 week old untrained puppy. Please leave...
