The guys at Budget TV & Electronics Repair are AMAZING! My hot tub stopped heating, and after having my repair guy out, it was discovered that the relay on the control board for the heater was bad. I was quoted $900 for a new board + heater (which I didn’t even need) from the manufacturer - they don’t sell the board separately. After doing some research, I found that these relays fail often, and replacing them usually fixes the issue entirely. I ordered some new relays, but I have ZERO soldering skills.
So I took the board out and took it and the new relays here. Not only did they have the work done in hours - on a snowy, freezing cold day so I didn’t have to worry about my hot tub - but the work was done PERFECTLY. Also, they actually tested out various parts of the board for me for free, even confirming that the one relay was bad! This was completely awesome and totally unnecessary because I had just asked for the soldering with no further testing or anything. But knowing that the caps, fuses, etc. on the board were still good gave me much more confidence!
I’ve had the board reinstalled for about a month now and the tub has continued to function flawlessly. AND I saved $800+ in the process! I cannot express my gratitude enough for getting this very time-sensitive work done so quickly and so well! I won’t be going anywhere else for electronics repair...
Read moreIn this day and age of disposable products, particularly electronics, it’s refreshing to find a repair shop like Budget TV & Electronics Repair that is willing to put a little effort into keeping repairable items out of our landfills. I had a small battery operated air compressor that stopped working because a wire came loose and just needed to be soldered back in place. Because the 1-year warranty expired a few months ago, my choices were to either buy a new one for $80 (and trash the old one) or to find a repair shop to try to fix it. After calling around town, one person recommended Budget TV & Electronics Repair to me. Jack fixed my item while I waited and only charged me $10! I’m so thankful for guys like Jack and his crew at this shop and I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to repair and not trash their broken...
Read moreMarty at Dubland recommended this business and I was not disappointed. I'd purchased a VCR for my daughter (the kids love the retro stuff!) from an independent vendor through Amazon. It was a fail... luckily returnable... but I thought I'd have it checked out here before sending it back. The owner advised me to return it because buying vintage electronics "untested" is always too much of a crapshoot, and as it was he had a great little SHARP VCR on hand for half that price... he put in a tape, it played great, got a brand new remote to go with it, AND it has a warranty. I just love finding small business that provide these unique and hard-to-find services. I highly recommend them -- and the staff...
