Good afternoon First came across this little place in Tucson, AZ. Wanted to give it a try, but opportunity wasn't there at the time. Now here in Albuquerque, I am watching a location getting ready to open on San Mateo Blvd. I remember the blue and white Gyro from Tucson...I look on the internet to find out it is indeed the same and there is a location open on Eubank Blvd. So, of course, when opportunity presents itself, I take advantage. Atmosphere is simple and somewhat feels retro. I like it! Clean, for the most part. I did notice places on the floor where spills were wiped up, but not cleaned, a fair amount of dirt from shoes (more than what I think is normal) visible on the white tile. Service: Yeah, it is top notch. (Reed) was great. Answered questions, offered tasting of sauces, always with a smile. Just a great person and loved the interaction. The rest of the staff were equally as kind! No complaints. You could feel their passion. Food: oh, yes, the food... I ordered a #4, Spicy Bacon Avocado Rice Bowl. I typically don't take a lot of pictures as I want people to judge their experiences but taste and not sight (I did take a fun pic). The meat is tender and well seasoned. Bacon is crisp. The veggies are fresh. The rice, beautifully cooked. So many times a rice dish is ruined because of the rice. Under/over cooked, under/over seasoned, and so on. Here at the Gyro Shack, the portions are perfectly balanced. The flavors compliment each other. Overall a truly great experience, especially for "fast food".

When I rolled up at noon, the line was out the door so I took that as a good sign and decided to still wait! It did take me over 40 minutes to order and get my food, but I didn’t mind. The building was previously an old Blake’s Lotaburger so it wasn’t anything fancy, but still clean and had enough seating for everyone in there. I really enjoyed my Deluxe Gyro! I want to order it next time but upgrade it to a rice bowl! The Greek Fries were so good! I highly recommend you order a side of hot sauce because it goes good with the gyro and fries! But I will say I wasn’t a huge fan of the baklava. The manager, or perhaps owner, was there and was so friendly and nice to everyone! I saw a DoorDasher stop in to pick up an order and he offered him a complimentary drink. Those little things go along way in my eyes!

First off I saw an employee smoking a cigarette outside the back door. Reg flag! At that point we should have left but we love gyros and there aren’t many Greek places in the far NE heights plus the reviews are pretty good however the food was sub par, we ordered 3 gyro plates and baklava What we got was a salad with dry and cold gyro meat. The dressing had a thick layer of film on the top. The cucumbers and tomatoes were soggy and there were huge chunks of onion. Our gyro plates did not include olives or feta which is pictured on the menu. The texture of the meat was off putting. The baklava was very sweet but definitely the only edible thing we ordered. I will insert a picture of what we ordered vs what we received. Wasted 40 bucks. Don’t waste your time or money at Gyro Shack.

Gyro Shack, located at Snow Heights and Eubank, is an exceptional Greek restaurant that stands out for its culinary excellence and inviting atmosphere. My visit left me thoroughly impressed, particularly with the original gyro, which was a sublime fusion of authentic Greek flavors, surpassing all expectations.

The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the fries (Greek fries). They are, without a doubt, the finest fries I have ever had—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and enhanced by a generous topping of delectable cheese.

A noteworthy aspect of my visit was the exemplary service provided by the gentleman at the register. His comprehensive rundown of the menu was both informative and efficient, seamlessly guiding me through my first selection without any delay in the cooking process. Remarkably, this did not cause any discomfort or inconvenience to other patrons.

Furthermore, the cashier demonstrated impressive knowledge about the rewards program. Although I couldn't sign up at the time because I left my cell phone in my car, I plan to do so on my next visit.

Gyro Shack excels in both its food quality and customer service, making it an indispensable destination for lovers of Greek cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an outstanding dining experience.

P.S. Shout out to the generous adult portions—I left feeling wonderfully full, and my...

My now husband and I came in on our wedding day, and were provided amazing service from the owner and team. We had been fiending to try this new place since we had first driven past it at least a month prior. We had spent the whole morning busy with getting ready, taking photos and coordinating and by the time we had time to worry about eating, we were super stressed and hangry, and we kept saying today is the day to finally try the Gyro Shack. We are so glad we made this decision! Gyro Shack completely saved the day with the amazing food and awesome service. Upon seeing us in our wedding get up, the owner comped our entire order as congratulations, despite us offering to pay. Not only was the customer service from the employees at the counter and in the kitchen prompt, kind and 10/10, the food was AMAZING. Best gyros either of us has ever had. All the fresh ingredients like tomato and avocado were super fresh, the pita was delicious and perfect, and overall the flavor combos in the gyros we got were completely complimentary and drool worthy. We loved our food so much we went back some hours later after the wedding! And the owner still would not let us pay, despite insisting! We will certainly be back, as gyro lovers this is definitely our new favorite spot....
