Disappointing Experience - Discriminated Against and Disrespected

I visited Honey Bee Salon in Albuquerque around 12:39 PM for a pedicure. Upon entering, I was not greeted, which set the tone for the rest of my visit. The person who I assume is the owner or lead stylist asked if I had an appointment. I mentioned that I did not and simply wanted a pedicure. I was seated with my feet in extremely cold water and left waiting until around 1:05 PM before I was finally asked what color I wanted. I chose white with gel and opted for the deluxe pedicure.

The service was not at all what I expected. The stylist barely communicated with me and didn’t start working on my feet until 1:10 PM. Throughout the process, she seemed to expect me to read her facial expressions to know when to move my feet in and out of the water. I kindly asked if she could verbally guide me since I found it difficult to interpret her nonverbal cues. Instead of accommodating my request, she left to help other clients, leaving me with my foot out of the water for another 10-15 minutes. At that point, I decided to leave without finishing the service.

What makes this experience particularly upsetting is that I had just undergone surgery related to breast cancer. I came to the salon expecting to be treated with respect and care like any other customer, but instead, I felt discriminated against because I’m Hispanic and have tattoos. As a hairdresser myself, I know the value of good service and always tip well. Unfortunately, I was treated with utter disrespect at this salon, and I cannot recommend...

AUTOMATICALLY GO HERE !! ✨✨✨✨ I looked up “Nail salons near me” in my area, and this one showed up, and had good stars/good reviews. So I ended up seeing how it would be, and it was better than I expected ! I walked in, and was right away helped, and one of the ladies asked me what I came in for, and she proceeded to get started right away. Very clean, very neatly organized, decorated, and all in all GREAT ATMOSPHERE 🙂 They asked if I was thirsty, they have goodies for the kiddos (& basically for everyone), very friendly ladies. The lady that did my nails, absolutely did an amazing work, she took the time, and effort to make sure it was picture perfect. We had really high hopes based off of the reviews, unfortunately my friend and I had very disappointing experiences. My friend and I both received pedicures. I was mostly looking forward to a nice foot massage but she applied the lotion taking no more than 15 seconds per leg, didn’t even rub it in pretending to massage. I thought maybe she would massage them after the polish was applied like some do, so I didn’t say anything. I was wrong. My friends nails were cut and filed completely crooked, and the polish job was horrible. Polish is all over the cuticle and sides on some and then on others they look two weeks grown out.
