We’ve been loyal customers of this restaurant since they were on Wyoming; going on 20 years now. Followed them to Holly and now to San Pedro. Man, the whole vibe has changed. For the worse. Red haired older woman who’s the manager clearly demands her employees stop customer service at the stroke of one hour before closing. No fresh food emerges from the cooks, servers are only engaged in clean up and busy work for next day. Stale cold pizza, empty bins for green beans and broccoli, and just a sad buffet. When customers show up at the entrance to be seated, they wait and wait to be seated because staff is hiding out or otherwise disinterested in actually seating people. And no one else is in the restaurant except for a few tables. Any one sent to seat the latecomers is greeted with annoyed, tired looks and all this while dirty tables abound! This kind of activity comes from the top. Management should get rid of this so-called manager who always makes sure to feed her face before tending to any tables or customers needing drinks. And she’s particularly annoyed when any customers come in close to closing. That’s bad. Very bad. The two very young guys who make the food are excellent, and they work hard. A couple of servers are reliably excellent, but the rest shouldn’t be in dining and service industry. This restaurant’s pizza USED TO BE HAND TOSSED! That’s what made their crust so delicious. The two Mexican brothers who made the pizza at Holly and Wyoming used to throw the dough high! Nowadays, that dough don’t go. Nowhere. Sad, pathetic demise of a once truly great, thriving business. But if TopDown don’t care, then staff doesn’t either. Skip this joint and head down aways to Scarpa’s!! Wood fire pizza and delicious pasta...
Read moreThis is one of my mom's favorite places to go because it's right around the corner from her house and she goes here a lot. We went here on Wednesday September 14th 2022. They set us we ordered our beers and water and proceeded to get our food (my mom has Alzheimer's). I got two wedges of tomatoes and about 5 cucumber slices. As we went through the line my mom said that she did feel like eating that kind of food and wanted to go somewhere else to eat Spanish food. So I told the waitress and she brought me my check. I figured since we didn't really get anything to eat that they wouldn't charge us for the full meal. When they brought me the ticket she charged a full meal so I talked to the manager and she was really rude and said she couldn't change the price. I explained the situation to her about my mom but she didn't seem to care and told me that she couldn't help me or lower the price. I had to pay a full price for too lousy pieces of tomatoes and five lousy pieces of cucumbers. Needless to say we will not be back to this place ever again to eat. My mom even said not to leave the waitress a tip but I did leave her something because she did serve us our drinks that's how upset my mom was. Hope you treat your customer better than that in the future but we will not the customers to you anymore. A good manager would have cut the price in half and understood the situation. I know I've been manager before and ran into a lot of situations and it's real easy to make an exception. I give a big F grade to managerial skills for the girl with the...
Read moreThis is a high quality kid friendly buffet. Plus points we loved: it is warm inside even if you sit by the window (we went in March). The veggie pizza reminds me of my favorite NY pizza - it has pesto and mozarella and peppers, mushrooms, it is delicious and the dough is great. I like it because I can take my kids, eat right away and I can choose the garlic green beans and broccoli, cucumbers and salad as a low carb alternative. The kids love the pasta although it doe not look very al dente to me ;) but they love it. Salad is fresh, good selection of dressings as well as olive oil and wine vinegar for those of us watching chemicals. Minus: I did think that the kids price for the buffet at 7.99 should include a drink, or be priced at 5.99 as 7.99 for kids and 8.99 for adult buffet is not much of a difference - my kids literally had a tiny amount of pasta (small fist) and one slice of pizza and so I thought it was a bit steep of a kids price. The ice cream is nice but not that good or creamy. I also think they should add some bitter greens to the salad bar - radishes and bitter greens or olives. Plus some veggie protein like sunflower seeds or unsalted peanuts or raw almonds would be nice. One more thing - for a high quality italian themed place - have some espresso available guys! Buy a Nespresso machine if you have to ;) All in all though I would definitely go back on some days, despite the price at $30 for a family of 2 kids and one adult including...
